Maybe this locally maligned class is better than people thought. I think we have some yard dogs in the batch.[/align]

Of the top 25 listed on the site that have signed, all but two picked high major schools. The other two selected MTSU and Wichita State University.

Clearly, there is talent in the JUCO ranks. Perhaps the decline of prep schools swelled JUCO rosters.

We were and he visited.
Then he was a Florida State commit.
Then he ate a bunch of MJ.
Then FSU released him.
Then he was back on the market.
Now he is visiting auburn.

That and JUCO's who have a reason for going JUCO (academics, personal issues, not just lack of good D1 offers) generally are more impactful. (Chris Jones, Geron Johnson..)

Apparently the Wright kid from Utah had some academic issues that kept him from even having D1 schools look at him out of high school (then prep school).

Projecting high school player performance level is risky also. I am not sure which is riskier: HS or JUCO.

Juco seem risker. You can name more HS phenoms who have made it than Juco. Name the last JUCO who has made it. Shawn Marion; Larry Johnson

The top 25 of the straight from HS kids seems a lot more stable than the top 25 JuCo kids, without crunching any numbers. We all know the anecdotal stories like Stam Simpson and the like, as well.

Hawkins has the hops.

I'm not looking to far into the video as far as expectations. But clearly the man can jump.

Avery Woodson has tons of talent too. Again, not basing expectations off this but the dude can play.

Burrell in action. I can't base anything off of this. It's outside and the competition is......

Still a video to watch though.

RE: Memphis Has 3 of the Top 35 Junior College Basketball Players...
Look, very few 5 star basketball players don't find someone to get them in college.

Then, I would guess about 80+% of the top players that have to really qualify, do so.

That leaves 20% of the top 10-110 players going to JC, probably a little less than that, and even then a few can't make it for whatever reason.

Therefore, The top 50 JC players is the equivalent of player number 15, 23, 31, 39, 47, 55, 63, 71, 79, 87, 95 etc coming out of high school.

So, the 10th best player in JuCO is roughly equivalent to number 70-90 coming out of high school, give or take as much as you want. The point is, the talent has been thinned quite a bit by the time you look at top JuCO prospects. But we've had plenty who have done quite well here, they are just most likely not going to be All Americans.
