The golden age of golf
From 1962 to 1975, there were 56 major tournament championships. In 33 of them, the winner was named either Player, Palmer, Nicklaus or Trevino.

It is interesting how the game has evolved. You went for a couple of decades when three or four golfers dominated, then there wa a period when Woods was winning everything, and now we have a stretch when it is wide open and there are a lot of players, young and old, who can win a big match on a given day.

Golf needs one or two premier players. They will find another one, assuming Tiger's days are over, which I'm not sure they are. There have been periods between the greats when there was no dominant golfer, but one always seems to arise. Jordan Speith, Patrick Reed, Jason Day, Rory McElroy and others are prime young candidates. Until then, the titles will be spread around. There are still many terrific players out there, but nobody that is dominating now. Several pretenders will blossom. Just wait. It's historically proven that another great player will develop. Maybe not at the Nicklaus or Tiger level, but a player who captures the public's imagination.04-cheers
