He had 40 double doubles. That's crazy. He's going to be a good pro.

He'll be a serviceable guy that will make lots of money playing ball on a team...but I don't think "good" is what I'd use. He'll get minutes but nothng to write home about IMO.

He really didn't have a choice. I don't think he could afford another year at utk. I do hope a team takes a chance on him though. I think he has some potential still to be developed.

So was it a good business decision to go to UTK?

Stokes is a pariah to me in a sports sense. He could have joined the respected ranks of Tiger's past. Instead he turned his back on the City and no one in Knoxville will remember or care he once played for the Vols.

I just don't see him succeeding as an NBA player. He's 6'6" in shoes and hasn't shown he can hit a jumper in his time at Tennuhlsee. I think his strength gets him drafted and he'll probably stick on a roster but I doubt he ever does anything worth mentioning.

Not every good/great college player will be good or even great in the NBA. He has the skills and the strength to be on NBA rosters for a decade or so...if he can stick around that long, that would be a decent NBA career.

He would have to play the 4 in the NBA. That means he gets to guard Zbo, Blake Griffin, Lamarcus Aldridge, Dirk, etc. Most of whom have an outside game. His offense and rebounding won't be enough to offset his defensive deficiencies. He's a Paul Millsap without the outside game.

He'd be right at home on the Spurs roster.

If he gains traction, I wonder if he ends up being the Grizzlies pick.

Depends. First off we don't know how much they gave him under the table and we don't know if he gets drafted.

But if he does, then yes.

He just turned 20...

If he can rebound and put the ball back in the hoop, he has a foundation for growth.

The question would be his fire and ability to develop as a basketball player.

Rebounding is very good. Defense is below par. Face up game is non-existent. He's probably a guy that could see some minutes because of his rebounding but not many because of the other problems that he has.
