I personally don't think Colbert can carry a show. He's a one-trick pony that gets old fast.

Still, it's his shot to fail. Let the market decide.

This. He is an entertainer that was promoted to a bigger entertainment job. Let's see how he does.

Maybe now our young libs won't be pretending he's a newsman.

Nah, they'll still get their news from John Stewart and Bill Maher.

those two are no different than O'Reilly and Rush...

There is a difference though. Two are meant to be funny and the others are funny by accident.

But what will happen to Paul Shaffer? Will he be deported if his green card isn't renewed?

I like Colbert regardless of his political affiliation. I think he's going to be the king of late night. I can't stomach Jimmy Fallon.

Many of my posts are meant to be funny. It just seems that some in this forum take themselves too seriously.

That can be a problem for you on a board since you have the reputation for being condescending and arrogant, someone who calls other posters stupid. Once that happens, you lose the ability to be taken as anything but serious.

Not quite, John Stewart and Bill Maher are more like Maxwell Smart and Archer.
