Welcome to the new B1G East Rutgers and Maryland.

They can't do math, but at least they can now figure out directions.

ACC avoids math, but has trouble with geography.

The Big 12 used to do math and geography well, but now has trouble with math and skips geography.

The Atlantic 10 can't keep track of its members, they come and go so fast. They really should figure out a way to get rid of numbers. The Atlantic Big Tent?

Good. That was a horrible attempt at naming.

Well, the Eastern Division will rival the SEC West for the strongest division in college football, and the Western Division will challenge the ACC Coastal for the weakest one. The dichotomy of the two will present an inordinate number of problems the solving of which will likely come in the form of two new additions and new divisions.

It's going to be great to be Nebraska and Wisconsin and Iowa will have the best shot they've had in years. In the East it's going to be ugly.

iowa is easily the most underrated program in FBS. their fanbase & resources are much larger than people give them credit for.

Iowa is "underrated" or a perennial underperformer?

RE: Big 10 Divisions
I understand what they're doing, but the Legends and Leaders divisions had more balance than the proposed East-West divisions.

In the Big 10's case, the zipper alignment might work out better for them. I'm not familiar with all of the rivalries, but something like this could bring more balance, competition-wise at least:

Michigan............Michigan State
Ohio State.........Penn State
Maryland............Rutgers
Minnesota..........Wisconsin
Nebraska...........Iowa
Indiana...............Purdue
Northwestern......Illinois

this has the stink of b12 north vs b12 south written all over it.

RE: Big 10 Divisions
I think the big 10 setup is insane and probably the dumbest move they have made post additions. Michigan State should be in the west and Purdue in the east. The only rational i've come up with putting MSU in the east is maybe michigan didn't' want them to have a better platform in the west and lobbied for them to be in the east. I would put MSU in the west and let them play a 6-1-2 format with permanent games against Michigan and Penn state which would be the last game of the year. There would be no other set match ups for the other school's, so its 6 from the same division and 3 rotated with UM and penn state getting 6-msu- 2 rotated.
