Maryland planning on 2 month celebration with B1G move.

Excerpt:

The Big Ten move was announced in November 2012. The school anticipated most fans would react “emotionally and negatively” following its long association with the ACC, according to emails obtained under a public records request. The school says alumni and fans have since warmed to the switch, although there is still criticism by some.

I hope, for the sake of the vendors, that all of the bills are secured by a valid credit card.

Good for them... Hopefully, they'll have fun cleaning up the 'soup kitchen' mess from their turtle shells after they play OSU, Penn State, Michigan and Michigan State every year in football.

*If you've seen the movie 'The Other Guys', you know what 'soup kitchen' means.*

X - they better get cash up front. 04-cheers

Amazing that a university has to sell its move to another conference - that's unprecedented since schools began to move again with Nebraska.

Maryland is the NCAA's Ottoman Empire.

Man I'm glad none of our schools or conference would do something like this.

Rutgers is doing something similar with 145 total events. (The number is to commemorate the 145th anniversary of Rutgers Football.) We have 6 "premier events" already announced. Two of these "premier events" are in Washington, DC and New York City proper. Its all about marketing the conference to these new regions. I get why its being done. How successful it will be is very much up for debate.

Wow! Maryland's holding its annual spring game tomorrow and not a word in the media or among the alumni at work. And Maryland's holding a B1G event in northern Virginia! I don't get that one.

They should.....they are about to be rolling in dough.

Everyone else in the ACC is stuck with that turd that Swofford calls a TV contract........that should really be called the 'get Swofford's son rich' contract.

TRUE. Assuming Maryland is able to get past Indiana on the road (not a sure thing, but likely), the honor of the "welcome to the Big Ten" beatdown belongs to none other than...
