RE: Ultimate Warrior RIP
Saw his acceptance speech and wondered if he had some serious problems. Very weird and paranoid speech, but then again he has always been one of the weirder ones.

RE: Ultimate Warrior RIP
One night before he died, he gave this speech:

"Every man's heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe a final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized."

Eerily similar to Martin Luther King's speech before he was shot. Very unnerving indeed.

Way, way, way too many steroids. He was petty crazy before and then all the 'roids took their toll. He looked and sounded out of breath, beaten down and paranoid during his last speech. But, then again, even at his prime, his lines were pretty 'out there.' Apparently, Andre the Giant detested Ultimate Warrior.

RE: Ultimate Warrior RIP
I'm just glad he got to have one more time on top with the HOF induction and appearing on Raw one last time.

If it was your passion and you lived your life for "the show" and being a wrestler, that's the way to spend your last weekend on earth.

BTW- Sad for his wife and kids, who I saw for the first time at the HOF speech.

Got his start in Memphis tagging with Sting as either the Blade Runners or Freedom Fighters (maybe both).

RIP Warrior.

Ain't that a mofo!

Whoa! I wish whatever health issue hit him had happened this weekend when he would have had WWE medical personnel around.

RIP Warrior.

Yeah, he has always given weird and paranoid speeches, so that isn't wasn't out of the ordinary for him.

That's like hearing Randy Savage give a speech once upon a time and worry he was constipated.

They all probably did. He was unreliable, a poor in-ring worker, and crazy.

WWF tried to make him the replacement for Hogan as their top star. It didn't work. He was popular, but I think his deficiencies and unreliability led to him getting fired.

Both. I never heard of them as the Freedom Fighters. I remember blade runners.

I first saw him on World Class Wrestling as the "Dingo Warrior." He immediately became a favorite.

I remember when Honky Tonk man issued his open challenge for the I-C belt and Warrior's music came on.

Benoit's sister-in-law said about Chris Benoit: 'the steroids enlarged his heart so much that he didn't have much time left on this earth' when explaining how steroids had messed him up not only mentally but physically.

Ultimate Warrior was ridiculously huge back in the day and he must have taken a ridiculous amount of steroids. The list of Pro Wrestling related deaths due to drugs (steroids and/or otherwise) is pretty astonishing (Rick Rude, Curt Hennig, Flying Brian Pillman, Eddie Guerrero, British Bulldog, etc.).

Couple that with concussions (former wrestler and Harvard alum Chris Nowinski has helped to pioneer the study and publicity around CTE, proliferation of opioids as accepted and promoted medication in society in general (much less in wrestling), and a grueling national touring schedule... It's a terrible lifestyle that they put themselves through for fans.

Most did HGH not steroids. And wasn't illegal. Pillman if I'm not mistaken had a health related problem as well that further endangered him. I hate that all the people I watched when I was growin up have died with the exception of a few. Hulk hogan is one of th few left. I wonder how he feels every time someone died like this.

Anyone take a look at Vince himself? Have to wonder how many of his employees were on the jury when they cleared him of steroids distribution. You cannot convince me that he knew nothing about the steroid use in the WWF and many still believe he had something to do with the availability of the steroids.
