nobody plays D in juco. Let's try a shooter this time.

We've tried great athletes with great crossovers who look really good until they try to put the ball in the basket.

That was my first question: can he defend? Can't stay on the floor if not.

"Marshall Henderson shot 45% from three in JUCO. Shot 34.6% at OM."

Poor coaching, no experienced coach to teach him to set his feet before releasing the ball, strength coach was over rated, and no one at Ole Miss for him to pass the ball.

That's an eFG% of 54% (like shooting nothing but two pointers and converting 54% of the time). That's not as terrible as his 3p% appears, but it's still not great.

There is a trade off with volume shooters though. Is it better to shoot 35/80 or 65/160? Don't know the answer.

I have never bought the x number of threes = x number of two point baskets, because you are giving up the ball, or possessions, 65% of the time when you rely on 3 pointers. If you have guys in the paint who can hit 50+% and another guy or two who can take it to the hole and get to the line, that's how I'd play.

If you have a guy or two who can hit threes and are wide open on those occasions (dribble drive, dish out) OK. But I'm not impressed with anyone who hangs out on the 3 point line waiting on the ball.

Well, there are all kinds of factors at play. EFG% basically looks at how many points on how many shots.

The 3 pt shot has revolutionized the game, and somebody like Niels Giffey or Phil Forte who are threats to make 45% of their 3s are invaluable. It ain't flashy, but it's effective.

It's hard to make up a sizeable deficit with 2's only. We would have lost the Cal-Northridge NCAA game without Roburt Sallie.
