RE: White/Tyndall snub Tulsa. Tulsa now looking at some ECU failure
You mean that failure that ECU was attempting to rehire a few years ago? Because he wasn't a failure at ECU. Hamrick was a failure; as shown by how he has also ruined the Marshall basketball program.

Dooley did o.k. for himself. He ended up getting some bling on that Kansas team that won the national championship a few years ago.

Btw, I can not see Tulsa even seriously looking at Tyndall. And White is obviously not interested at competing at a high level against coaches like Brown, Ollie, Sampson and Cronin. Hell White couldn't even handle Lebo. So nothing lost there for Tulsa.

And he lost to that same elite level AAC coach. Imagine that.

Lol no Dooley. That would be a horrible hire.

Starting a new thread doesn't make White's impending departure any less likely.

I don't think he would be. One of the 2 biggest mistakes in ECU history was Hammy firing Dooley. Only other one close was Hammy firing Logan and hiring JT. Dooley had the verbal that would have changed the course of ECU basketball history in David West, and then that dipshit Hambone ruined it and set ECU basketball back 15 years.

Snub?

I seriously doubt either of them even gave Tulsa the time of day.

99% of Tulsa fans don't want him. I don't think he'd be successful here, honestly.

Nothing personal to him or ecu, but no re-treds.

No offense taken I think you guys can get a quality head coach, especially if you are willing to offer 1 million + like was rumored you offered to Manning to stay. My only point was Dooley would be far from the worst hire you could make. I think there are better guys you can get though and I hope it works out.

RE: White/Tyndall snub Tulsa. Tulsa now looking at some ECU failure
This has been one of the quietest coaching searches I've seen at tulsa. Barely any info leaked. Most "lists" of candidates tulsa media have released have been 80% bs.

The same names come up every time - bob Hoffman, Barry Hinson etc etc etc... I think TU has more commitment than ever to basketball now and would be foolish to hire one of those washed - up coaches.

Why? Tulsa can and needs to do better than that. Hell Dooley is a better candidate than him.

I don't know which is worse, bob Hoffman or bringing back Doug Wojcik.

in your opinion...

Hoffman is 78-32 the last 3 seasons featuring an NCAA run with a win over Duke.

He's from Oklahoma and was REALLY successful at the OK CC level (242-79 at OK Baptist)

Tulsa could do worse. 07-coffee3

I like how Bob Hoffman isn't a good coach, yet he won more NCAA tournament games than CUSA did this year.

Eric Musselman? He resigned from Arizona State yesterday....That would be a great hire.

They could maybe "do worse" but that's not a hire that's going to make them competitive with the top of the AAC.
