I'm sorry to have to correct you but your fun with math is incorrect. California signed up 1,221,727 on private QHP's. That is not 3.1 million. You are inserting the wrong numbers into your equation. The 3.1 million in California comes from combining the private QHP's with the medicaid signups. They totaled approximately 1.9 million. 1.2 +1.9 = 3.1. The 7.1 number you used is just the number of people enrolled on the national and state exchanges as of March 31st and does not include expanded medicaid and woodworker medicaid numbers. The expanded medicaid number is somewhere around 7 million.

No I'm simply saying that you don't have your numbers right. The 3.1 million number in the thread title is a combined private exchange signups and medicaid expansion number for the state of California. You took that number and used it to compare with the exchange signups nationally. To correctly crunch those numbers you need to use national numbers for exchange signups AND medicaid signups or take the 1.2 million exchange signups in California and compare it with the 7.1 million exchange signups nationally.
