That is a terrible list. No wonder JJ won out. I can't believe they spent that long looking for a coach and narrowed it down to three has beens and a BT disciple, who while a very good young coach, was never going to get the job due to the BT association.

Well, UT's AD Dave Hart did say he was looking for a guy with head coaching experience and a proven winner. Sounds like Shaka to me

Well, UT's AD Dave Hart did say he was looking for a guy with head coaching experience and a proven winner. Sounds like Shaka to me

So basically, every coach that has done well and isn't iconic to their school is someone they should consider asking. I'm surprised he did throw out Mark Few and Brad Stevens out of pure habit.

Nothing Travis posts can be taken seriously. He's a troll, a journalist made out of the same cloth that made Finebaum the most popular and hated radio host in the South. Both went to UT and have the ability to get all of the SEC to love them one minute and hated the next.

Also, if you couldn't tell from my thoughts on Travis, the link was posted as a joke to help get the Ram-faithful fired up again. The Shaka-to-Marquette drama was fun to watch from afar.

I don't hate Travis, I just don't respect his turn to a heel since launching Outkick the Coverage. Matt Jones is okay at this point, despite having an absolutely loathsome team to cover.

Edit: This has nothing to do with Travis' radio show. It has to do with his writing style. He went from smart, snarky and funny sports writer to a click-troll. I understand why, it pays better. I just don't respect it and would rather read something smarter that's not directed at the lowest common denominator.
