Joes size is only an issue because he cannot shoot off the move and does not have any mid range game to speak of...if he could do those things he would be in the NBA just like Shabazz...

In summary. Good not great. Listened to his handlers instead of his coach's and waited too long to work on the parts of his game that kept him from being great. His handlers were only telling him how he was not being 'used' properly instead of working on his game. Par for the course with too many Memphis kids.

Blame the kid. Any onus on a rookie coach not learning to "manage" a kid early in his career?

Get over it. He came in with King Of Memphis tattooed across his chest and his ass on his shoulders. Had an entitlement attitude that it was his team and his way of doing things. Refused to do what was needed to develop his skills. You forget as a FRESHMAN he went to media and said if coach wanted to win then coach needed to put him in the game.

His handlers were a major part of his problems.

If one is going to recruit high level players, that coach is going to have to be able to almost be a psychologist first, basketball coach second.

Fair enough. So that means coaches need to ditch the "my way or highway" attitude, to some extent then.
