Nice!! And the Cougars came away with series win at Rutgers! Stoked about how this season is shaping up for UH.

No. 10 Houston Baseball played errorless baseball and was backed by gutsy relief pitching to help the Cougars come way with a 2-1 win on the road at Rutgers.

HUGE WIN considering we have never won a series against them.

Game one and three were great pitchers duels. Game one in particular had a whole section dedicated to pro scouts there to watch the two future early round picks.

Well technically he's not going to get fired no matter what happens. This is the last year of his deal, so he's either going to get extended or allowed to walk after the year is over. That's why the standard is much different in my eyes for this year. He's got to do enough this year not to just justify being here one more year, but to justify likely being here 5 more years. Yes I am in the "hater" category of BG. I think that the performance of this program since the SR in 09 has been completely unacceptable. I think he should have been fired after last season, but I'm also not a person who gets so set in any one opinion that it can't ever be changed. If this series win is the moment where things change and we all of a sudden go on a run and end up making a SR or even Omaha (I think we have the pitching staff to get us there) then I'd be all for him getting that extension. If it's not and we either end up missing a regional or squeaking in and making a quick exit then it's time to move on. Winning this series against Rice was unbelievably important, and the way we won it IMO is just as important. For years people like me have used the term "Billy Ball" to describe how we'd always find a way to lose close games against top competition. How we'd find ourselves in these types of games like game 1 and 3 this weekend and we'd all of a sudden start running ourselves out of innings and making critically bad errors and never get a clutch hit and always end up losing the games by 1 run. It's been a running joke for years. However, this is the first time since USC in the regional in 09 that it actually went the other way. I think that's very important and if that trend continues we have the horses in both the rotation and the bullpen to be a scary out for any team.
