Do you suggest to your boss that your cannot make it by eight and suggest that he open his doors later in the morning?

UC sets the schedule based usually on TV requirements. Come if you can. Don't if you can't. But quit BITCHING!

Maybe people can also quit bitching about the people who don't come because of the scheduling.

I never said one thing about anyone not attending. I just want to end the petty excuses and bitching. If you can make it, fine. If not, don't come. But you would think from reading the posts that UC schedules games and events just to personally piss off the bitchers.

RE: Spring Game Roll Call
This fan base does crack me up sometimes.

Here's an outlier we can hopefully all chuckle at:

When talking to someone in the ticket office yesterday to renew my football tickets, they mentioned there was a fan all sorts of pissed off that the Bearcats weren't playing in Lancer stadium this year. Serious as a heart attack. Could you imagine Tommy Tuberville coaching the Bearcats in a high school stadium this fall?

Many UC fans complain about 12 noon kickoffs during the regular season. Everyone always wants an evening game.

So the one time that UC is not beholden to TV assignments, they choose a noon kickoff. That's what they get.

Does anyone ***** more about noon starts for football and bball than UC posters? I don't think so.

Well said. Way too many excuses from this fan base. It has to be the perfect day, start time, and weather... and that's not even including the opponent or how the team is playing.

Exactly my point. If the fan base complains about noon starts, then why did UC schedule the game at noon. Do they not listen?

Doesn't personally matter to me. I've got 9 football games this year already planned out to attend. Might fit in one more.

The only other one I have ever seen is Pitt. I have said before we have a lot of similarities with that program.

Rag and Bearhawkeye raise good points. It is incumbent on the seller of the product (that being UC) to overcome barriers. It is well documented that noon events are not likely to draw the optimum crowd in this city.

Let's make one thing clear about spring games: It's purpose is not just to have a game. I bet coaches would tell you they would just rather get another practice in. The main purpose of the spring games is to display the product in order to woo potential season ticket holders. For this reason, I would expect UC would want the largest crowd the can possibly have. Maybe next year UC should consider partnering up with the Reds on Opening Day?

I think I will drop Mike Bohn a line.

To their credit, it seems UC "understands" that noon kickoffs aren't ideal. The last three FCS games were played at 7 pm. They can't do much to control the timing of conference kickoffs but the fact that they got those games moved to the evening is a good sign.

I hope Bohn throws a fit and screams like bloody hell to the league office/tv folks to get some saturday home games in the evening. Students grapple with some noon kickoffs even when the weather is lovely and games are on campus...mix in bad weather and a bus downtown for noon games against this slate of teams and it could be awful.

If any of these Saturday games are broadcast on any of the ESPN family of networks (except ESPN3) then the game will likely be a noon kickoff. No way the mothership puts UC into prime time or the good afternoon time slot.

If we get put on the CBSSN then maybe an evening kick is possible.

Some one posted on Twitter a picture of TT talking with Mike Golic and his son, Mike had navy blue jacket on.

RE: Spring Game Roll Call
I was in Louisville last night with a colleague who loves college football so we made our way to the Cardinals spring game. 27,000 was the reported attendance which seemed pretty accurate. Here is a few reasons it worked so well:

1) Excitement coming off Bowl win, and move into ACC.
2) 7:30 start time on Friday night
3) Carnival with games/rides/food set up hours before kickoff in front of stadium for families
4) Free posters, stickers, and other giveaways
5) Autographs with former players
6) Free parking, free admission
7) All concessions open including beer sales
8) Current and former NFL players from UofL introduced at halftime to present individual awards for last season's players
Great idea UC should steal....huge ovations from the crowd.

And of course the part I liked the least, the 2014 Louisville football schedule was promoted throughout the contest. A schedule that includes: Florida State, Clemson, Miami(FL), NC State, Boston College, Syracuse, Virginia, Kentucky, and Notre Dame.

And we got Tulane, Memphis, Temple......03-puke

What else is there do in Louisville? The Cards are the pro team in town. I am not spring game fan but I attend all of UC's home games. Spring games to me are just practice. Yes, UC could do more to get fans to attend but I would rather they focus on bringing in fans to the real game this fall.

Heck even if UC had Louisville's schedule people would still complain about the FCS team, game times, weather, and their weeknight games.

I would rather focus on the Bearcats. Yes, I agree that Bearcats should push for night games early in the year.

The football schedule itself is actually pretty interesting. Solid MAC programs in Miami University and Toledo pair with Ohio State and the University of Miami (FL) to make a difficult non-conference schedule. League title is within reach because ECU and Houston come to Cincinnati.

Itll be even worse if the almighty UC gets beat by those low level, highschool, nobody "dregs" like ECU and UH. Can you even imagine if UC comes out and gets beat by that puny, pathetic, insignificant program of Toledo. What a start to the season that'd be! LUCKILY, our program is immensely better, and so much further ahead of those three, so there is no way THEE All Powerful Cincinnati (tAPC for short) will lose to those fakers.

Anyone else notice the red on the side of the forum has been looking more and more Scarlet every day? Weird.

2009: 1-11
2010: 10-4 (coach leaves and then beats up his wife)

That's what happens when your AD (Brad Bates) spends all of his time pumping up the hockey program and neglecting basketball and football. Shocker, the guy got hired away to Boston College, another hockey-focused university.

Correction Miami was 0-12 not 0-11. Miami provided UMass with it's only victory losing 17-10 to the 60 Second Men.
