RE: Where does your arena all?
North Texas' Super Pit came in at a very respectable #54! It is a great venue. Too bad our team wasn't very good this season.

That list is a joke. Tulane is ahead of UNO? I'd challenge you to find anyone in New Orleans who agrees with that. It's beyond absurd. Same goes for putting UNO lower than USM. There's no rationale for that.

I don't think there are 190+ arenas I'd take over the TAC.

Bartow Arena: ample restrooms.
I'm glad that list was free. I'd have been pissed if I'd paid for it.

That list sucks. MT is #151 behind Wichita State and just ahead of Temple. The arenas ahead of us are actually terrible. No way should MT, WSU, and TU be that low.

It's a weird list and many of the arenas are rated on perceived reputation.
I wonder if anyone who contributed has ever even driven by the first 2 on the list.
For good reason, Rupp carries a lot of "lore" with the Wildcats' history, but anyone who has ever just driven by the place has to ask if that was really Rupp arena. The other is a football stadium.......????????!!!!!!!

Halton Arena at #22, not to shabby.
As far as Duke, well, it's in Durham so I'm sure that didn't help.

This is just a individuals opinion and they rated many criteria about each school and not just the structure in itself. While I hate the Murphy center myself, it does create a nice atmosphere during game time but its butt ugly while empty and the parking is as bad as I've ever seen ( again just my opinion) and I'm sure there are things that everybody loves about there own arena and the visitors will find things they hate. I believe the ratings giving was based on the entertainment value per dollar spent while in each school town and not the venues themselves. I do find some of the list pretty screwed up myself btw

RE: Where does your arena all?
UTEP came in at 21 so I'm happy. What makes the Don not no.1 is outside it's not that aesthetically beautiful. It's not ugly, in other words it's not just a square concrete slab, but it doesn't have that OOOOmph. It's beautiful inside though and there isn't a bad seat in the place. Concourse is very large too. Oh, and I think they rated it according to the mood of the place during games so maybe that's why we came in so high. You can check that out today when the final wnit is televised.

They obviously came to Temple for one of our crappy games, probably a mid-week game against Fordham or something. No one will say we're consistently one of the best atmospheres in college basketball, but when it's a big game, we bring it. 152nd behind Monmouth, Jax State, LIU-Brooklyn, Marist, Charleston Southern, Delaware and friggin Drexel's tiny little high school gym is just insulting. Not to mention we have one of the best on campus arenas in the country after our $2M renovation to add a top notch video board and video ribbons around the arena.

RE: Where does your arena all?
When you enter your arena, are you greeted by a dozen ushers with smiling faces who will escort you to your seat and give you a fluffy pillow and hand you an absolutely free commemorative full color program highlighting the history of your basketball programs with signature autographs of all the current players and coaches? Is there a "Bouncy Castle" awaiting the children as you enter the arena complete with clowns and jugglers? Maybe your arena sits right next to a "Dave and Busters" or better yet an full scale amusement park.
How about a jam packed arena filled with screaming fans. Even though your arena seats 2 thousand and your down by 40 points, atmosphere is everything.
How about access. Is there an airport down the block so you can fly in and walk to the arena?
These amenities can go a long way in determining your ranking.

So... UNT wins?

RE: Where does your arena all?
A lot of the criteria had absolutely nothing to do with the arenas. Charlotte gets major props for having a major airport hub in their city. UNCC had nothing to do with that airport and not everyone has a major connecting hub in their city. I've also noticed several schools with identical ratings in all categories and yet are separated by several rankings. It's different if one person did these reviews, but you have several who don't seem to follow a set of guidelines. Our reviewer was just too lazy to find places to do while in the region. He suggested the closest thing was Colonial Williamsburg 45 miles away.
This ranking was good for a laugh. That's about it.

Presently there is nothing special about Rupp except the team on the floor. The Yum is 20 x better. And I go to both regularly. After the $350 million upgrade in the next fews years to Rupp that could change things. Halton (Charlotte) is a great on campus arena. If I understand correctly neither Louisville nor Kentucky own the Rupp or Yum and neither are on campus. If that is the case it's not their arena. So, on those bases Charlotte could claim the the Bobcats arena as their arena.

.....if the 49ers played their home games there, that is true. However, Halton is pretty highly rated.
There are advantages and disadvantages to playing in a municipal owned arena which I'm sure a multitude here would be happy to air out. :)
