I know SMU hasn't had much success in football (15 losses in a row to Tech) or basketball (20+ years without a tourney appearance) but this year is different. You guys finished the basketball season as the #70 team in the country.

Since the last time SMU made the tourney Tech has 6 appearances (including making the sweet sixteen under two different coaches). Not to mention our two conference championships or our 28-1 regular season.

For context even Pat Knight (worst coach in sports history) went on an NIT run here.
