Not knocking what anyone else has going on, but I can't imagine any school growing at the rate Charlotte is (and has been for 20+ years). We have grown from ~12,000 students in 1990 to over 28,000 now and our acceptance rates have actually gone down. With this growth, our campus is almost unrecognizable to what is was in 1991 when I graduated. Since the early 90s, there has literally not been one time that we have not had construction going on and I don't mean a new parking lot or 1 building. I mean, 3,4 or 5 MAJOR projects going on almost constantly for 20+ years. It is unreal. If anyone could find and post an aerial of our campus from the late 80s and one from now it will blow your mind. We have probably tripled or more (easily) the number of classroom buildings/dorms/parking decks, athletic facilities on the campus during this time.

I went back for the inaugural football game last fall and hardly recognized the place. Last time I was on campus before that was a bball game when Lutz was still there. So, even though I had been there in the last 5 years, they place STILL looked different. Heck, even around the school my old GPS just gave up because new roads had been built etc that my GPS didn't recognize.

First two buildings on the current campus, 1960. The barn came with the property and I understand it was a popular student hang out, though way before my time.

This one is from a local aerial photographer, so I should give him some credit here.
The stadium is under construction in this photo, and a few more buildings have been added/ are being added since this was taken. See if you can locate the two original buildings on the current campus - they're both still there!

One of the things I really like about C-USA is many of the schools are really growing. Charlotte's latest Alumni Magazine said that we expect to be at 35,000 students by 2018, which is two years earlier than we have been saying. Back in the 70s people said UNCC stood for UNder Constant Construction and nothing has changed.

Exciting and impressive to see how so many of our schools have grown so much over the years and their campuses become impressive and so beautiful, and so many projects, buildings, etc. are planned or currently being built. Kudos to all!

In terms of growth, actually FIU has been nothing short of phenomenal as well. FIU has grown from about 15,000 students in 1985 to just about 53,000 students in Fall 2014. Plans are that by 2020 FIU's enrollment will reach about 62,000-64,000, thus becoming one of the largest 4 or 5 universities, enrollment-wise, in the nation by then. Physical growth has been, expectedly so, incredible and non stop since as well.

Don't be foolish, this is CUSA, home of the growing mid majors. If you can't imagine UCF, USF, Houston, UNT, FAU, FIU, ODU, Middle, UTSA growing at the rate of Charlotte, then you should really learn more about our member programs and the history of CUSA.
