One small step.

Iran shouldn't be surprised. T his isn't the first time the US has denied Iranian appointments to the UN. Not going to stop Iran from pouting though.

I was glad to hear this news. Ultimately, I don't think the US will win this battle, but at least they played their hand.

I've given up thinking we'll every leave this worthless organization.

Now I wonder if we could at least get fair market value for the real estate.

If they just moved the UN someplace else this wouldn't be an issue, at least not here.

This was a political move to keep the b!tching from the right down to a minimum. I really doubt Obama & Co wanted to keep an anti Israel, anti west, anti America douche out of the country. In fact, if the circumstances were different, this clown would probably get an invitation to the White House.

Since we are part and parcel to the agreement we will not, and the administration knows it. Unless Iran sends someone else we will eventually be required to allow him access. This was a PR move, plain and simple.

I'd say no, not under any circumstances.
I'd tell Iran that if he shows up we will kill him.
And I'd tell the UN to go **** themselves if they don't like it.

I'd go with two our of the three and leave out the second. I mean, we go that route, we are just like Iran/North Korea, etc. Don't think we want to go there.

You know how we could solve this problem?

Move the United Nations to Tehran.

I think we do. I really, seriously think we do want to go there. Let me clarify a bit. I think we should go as far as to make Iran believe that's what we would do. This is clearly flaunting on their part. We need to make sure they understand that we will not accept it. If we have any illusions of successfully negotiating any sort of nuclear weapons deal with them, they need to understand that nothing is off the table as a potential response to any action on their part.

Exactly, why tip our hand. If the guy makes it here, and he magically shows up beheaded, our investigation should only take 10 minutes, out and out lie, blame the Russians, and wash our hands of him. Problem solved.

Or have the CIA whomp up one of their classic "one-car accidents".

Tragic. Truly.

i like the "blindfold, handcuff him, make him sleep in the basement and piss in a bucket ==> don't release him until reagan is elected" idea that me and i think torchy? (it was one of the GOP nuts) came up with.

The obvious question is how do you mitigate retaliation if you were to kill him (or more realistically would you trust Obama to take those steps). The naive approach would be to do it without regard to consequence, which would get an embassy in Africa blown up, a foreign trade office in South America blown up, or a discotheque in Germany blown up... what would you do to convince Iran that it's more expensive for them to retaliate than it would be for them to do nothing? Because that latter price is a no doubt a heavy one in their part of the world.

It would be convenient for him to expire before he ever got on a plane for America, but if he were to die on US soil, retaliation would be certain. I'd favor a few oil terminals or pipelines mysteriously catching fire before he bought his plane tickets...
