$600k after year one
$500k after year two
$400k after year three
$300k after year four
$200k after year five

I think before this he was 600k before this month, 500k this month, 400k next year...so an increase of 200k after next season.

If anyone wonders how a program, La Tech, can pay their coach $600,000 per year yet only have about 1,000 paying fans per game then check the amount they stiff the taxpayers, over $9mil last fiscal year, to cover the losses in their athletic dept per year. Obviously the La taxpayers have deep pockets.

Well, La Tech only averages about 1,000 paying fans per home game therefore I was only trying to explain for those who wonder how they do that. Simply speaking, deep pocket taxpayers. I don't see how you could object to a post explaining that for everyone.

it was most likely the bank of James Davison

EE for someone who hates Tech, you seem to really only show up when you can find a way to bash them

He's an idiot. I'm a season ticket holder and if there are only 1000 paying fans we're letting 1500 in free on our worst night..and 4000-5000 in free on our best night. It's all moot anyways he should know we can't give coaches raises using state funds as he is implying.

I made no comment about attendance whether reported, announced, season tickets, estimated, padded, or whatever. THE LOUISIANA STATE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR checked the books and for last reported fiscal year La Tech ticket sales revenue for their 14 official home games was $149,312. At an average $10. each that amounts to 1064 PAID fans per game. How does that qualify me as an idiot? Do you fans think the auditor is lying? Why would he do that? Same thing applies to your football ticket sales, wont dig into that but in past the average PAID attendance has been far less than 10,000.

So far as giving raises from state funds you are correct. However, diverting funds from donors to the foundation which then pays part of the coaches salaries is leaving a big hole in the budget which has to be filled in with taxpayer dollars. If the donations went to the program itself then the losses would be less.

Tech's attendance in basketball and football is middle of the pack in this conference and we have the lowest budget in the conference. How?

$10 per ticket? The only $10 ticket in the place is a child's ticket in the upper bowl. Floor seats are like $50. Those are mostly full. The lower bowl are $20-28 and mostly full. Then the upper bowl is $12. All I'm saying is...someone is lying or doesn't know what they're talking about.

I checked the La Tech ticket price website out of curiosity for last season and they list no seat prices higher than $28. which are just a few small "sections" at floor level on one side of the court that hold a total of maybe 200 but wont argue if you say 5,000. Then, the rest of the lower sections, probably 2000 seats in all, are $20. adult and $15. children EXCEPT a huge block of those 100 level seats are reserved for the students. The others sections are all in the 200 level and listed as $12. adult and $8. children.

So, if you want to say the ticket price average is $20. then Tech only has an average of about 500 paying fans per game. The only figure NOT flexible is the total ticket sales of $149,312 for the entire season, dice it any way one likes. That's the figure supplied BY the La Tech administration TO the auditors which THEY validated.

I suspect if Tech turned on the lights so the upper sections could be seen they would appear mostly empty.

Look at the season ticket brochure. Floor seats $550...divided by 14 games comes to $40/game. Those aren't listed with single game only season tickets. Lower Bowl $28, 100 level $20. The $8 children's upper seats are for the women's games. They're $10 for the men. There's one student section and one band section. I'm not saying we get 8,000 people. I'm saying I went to 12 of the 14 games and the lowest attendance was around 2,500. The highest was around 5,000.

So now that you have us down to 500 paying fans a game from your 1,000 earlier, there are two possibilities. Either we are letting 2000-4500 people in for free, or you are lying. Would you like to organize a conference call with your auditor so we can straighten this out? Here is the ticket brochure:

Average home attendance 4,186

The $550. floor seats you mentioned on the ticket brochure were not listed on your official ticket office website. Those are a few movable chairs of which, as the brochure says, are limited in number due to being down on the floor.

Keep in mind the $149,312 ticket sale revenue we are discussing is the amount YOUR athletic dept recorded on their books and verified by the legislative auditor for fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, not this current year however they are probably in the same ball park.

Simple way to set your mind at ease and allow yourself to become OFFICIALLY informed is for you to call your athletic dept and ask THEM to explain. Why don't you do that and get back to us, share their explanation. They should have NO hesitation in confirming or discussion information that THEY reported and made public. Here is the link to your official site, if it works.

I would seriously pay good money to read Eager Eagle's memoir detailing how he came to HATE Louisiana Tech so much. This stuff has been going on for ten years. Eager, what happened man!? Did Terry Bradshaw steal your girlfriend?

I am beginning to see why the Tech administration is so careful when presenting their program to the public. There are probably hundreds of Tech fans who have been indoctrinated over the years to the point where reality is pushed aside in order to feed the egos of those who do not nor will not face the facts as they are. Frankly, the only fact I have presented in this thread is that they only sold just over $149,000 in tickets for all home basketball games for year ending June 30, 2013. The rest of my comments are OBVIOUS to all just estimates like you sold one ticket for $149,000, ten tickets at $14,000, etc b ut fact remains the total for all for the entire year was $149,000. How can one consider I hate La Tech when I only disclose the truth which obviously their fans just cant comprehend? Again, call your athletic dept and let them confirm what their accountants have reported. I didn't make up the figures, only mentioned them as they are.

I didn't make up the figures, only mentioned them as they are.

and yet you only feel the need to look at Tech when it comes to where there money comes from?

Basically yes because I detest the state taxing me to support your athletic program. Its time they make all those alleged fans in attendance buy a ticket.

well it's not like it's just targeting Tech and if you have a problem with the way things run the talk to your local congressman. I don't see you ever going after ULM or ULaLa with these same problems

You are absolutely right, EE. Tech is a complete drain on society and should be closed. May we now resume talking about our great head coach.
