Maybe Jim will hire Stan Heath since Stan gave Jim the opportunity at Kent, which gave Jim is Head Coaching opportunity.
Armon Gates ought to be on our short list for a HC someday. He's a Big 10 assistant at only 28. Think he's going to learn a lot from Chris Collins.

I think he's a good mid major coach but beyond that, I don't see the attraction. If Genius Ford were to go back to HO-U, I want to make sure I have a front row seat and a box of popcorn for his return visit to Kent.
In fairness, TCU was mightily outside of his typical recruiting area. Christian has ties to the NE and the move makes more sense on that level, but I agree with you - he's a good midmajor coach and may struggle at BC.
Wasn't one of his best recruits right from there and coming to KSU then flipped him to TCU when he got that job?

RE: Jim Christian
It looks like BC has no intention of moving up in the ACC.

RE: Jim Christian
Christian will be an improvement over what they had so they may be satisfied for a while. Looks like he really left OH in a mess. The good returning players either want to leave or they are glad that JC is gone. The MAC's best recruiting class appears to be changing their minds.

Obviously, the first sentence isn't true (Saul Phillips). The second is. Jim Schaus has never hired from within. Since John Groce, his publicly-stated position is to hire men with previous head coaching experience. When Phillips is gone in a couple/few years, it'll be the same way.
So I don't see Ford or Boals ever taking the slot in Athens.
I'd like to thank BC, though. I think we ended up with a better coach than we had a week ago.

IMO, BC ended up with a better coach than they had before, the same can be said for OU. Probably a longer term bad move for BC.

I hope the new coach can win 24 and 25 in his first two years, get to a MAC Title game, and get two postseason berths.

I hope that the new coach wins every OOC game and then loses every MAC game except against acorn. He hopes to inherit a sweet sixteen team that has DJ Cooper running the show.

Maybe BC is using Jim as a stepping stone instead of JC using the schools as one.
