Something I am Proud of.... We can pound our collective chest as our Monarchs have a very good day.

Starting with 6 ODU Wrestlers qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Would love to see a few make All-American from this group

Our ODU Baseball team kicked butt and sent VMI home after we claimed two victories, Yesterday and today. We hammered them today with 15 runs as the cadets only had 5 make it to home plate.

Our Men's Basketball team flew into Texas and played a very good game against Marshall, prevailing with a 73 58 win. Now, they earn the privilege to continue on in the CUSA tournament and play MTSU tomorrow at 4:30 EST.

Finally, the Lady monarchs continued ODU's good fortune beating a very good UTSA team by the score of 79 - 74 and will move on to play Southern Miss. tomorrow night at 9:30 pm EST

We can all share in ODU's success. We have many reasons to be proud.

RE: Something to be proud of
A really nice week for Monarch Nation.

The men's Basketball team will be dancing for the 2nd week, after the 1st round win in the CBI, and turning a 5 win season in 2013 into a 17 win season in 2014.

The Lady Monarchs continue to work hard and get the job done to move into the 2nd round of the WNIT.

ODU has two wrestlers that accomplish and achieve outstanding results for the wrestling team. Tristan Warner Wins the Elite 89 Award For NCAA Division I Wrestling, the only ODU student to ever receive this award. Old Dominion University's redshirt freshman Jack Dechow becomes an All American. At the same time ODU continues to move up into the ranks of collage wrestling notables

The baseball team continues to improve and wins a very good game at La Tech. If we win one more in the 3 game series, we will have our first series win as a CUSA member.

ODU women's tennis Claims 4-3 Match Win Over William & Mary.

Sailing Women's and Co-ed Teams Ranked in Top-11 World College Rankings. The women's team came in at No. 9 in the rankings.

Old Dominion senior Elizabeth Haycock has been named the Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week.

ODU Defeats Saint Joseph's 18-11 in women's Lacrosse

Not a bad week. Sorry if I missed something.

A Pride is defined as being a social group of lions. So you're good with your moniker.

FWIW: Murray State, our second victim of the season, won the CIT.

Just some more info on the attendance numbers and some historical info, if you like that sort of thing.

2013-2014: 5,778 (-12.6%), 6189 (-6.3%) if you don't count CBI, 6,407 for C-USA home games
2012-2013: 6,608 (-10.2%)
2011-2012: 7,362 (-4.9%), 7681 (-.8%) if you don't count CIT games
2010-2011: 7,745

Winning will fix that.

Couldn't be more pleased with the improvement of the team. Progress = butts in seats. Glad we left the imploding CAA when we did.
