If this comes to pass I personally hope the game in 20 is as close to the anniversary of the crash as possible.

classy posts from classy folks...

I've never seen such academic arrogance from fans of a former normal school and a current state back up school.

RE: Good for You ECU and Marshall
Was hoping this thread would not get bombarded like it is with negative attitudes. Truth is, both institutions respect each other and have similar missions to educate rural underserved areas. Both schools have to fight for everything they have and both school's have great football and football histories. We are way more similiar than different. In spite of all of the back forth I sometimes give, I do respect Marshall, its fans and its football.

Had Compher not agreed to a home and home it would have disrespected the bond these two schools have, especially given the horrible plane crash event. 6 years is a long time from now, and given the good fortune ECU has had to move to a better conference, the home and home might not last. Either way, good for both schools staying connected to each other even if it is in small ways. Good for both schools for having leaders who can look past the recent feud between the schools( it is recent, very recent in fact)

I am a sports fan, and love good match ups , with history. This one, imo fits that bill.

I'm happy about it. I've always liked Marshall (despite some of the posters on this board, and that fits the other way too) and it will be nice to have a break from the SEC & ACC schools OOC. I don't know why anyone would disagree, especially since we play NC Central this year.

I doubt any dates would be set this far in advance, but in 2020 November 14th falls on a Saturday. That's when the game should be played. Hell I always thought C-USA should have made the ECU-Marshall game the closest Saturday to the 14th every year, but that would have made too much sense.

Same type of hog slop that he used to throw together for NIU.

So far under his watch. We've signed a buy game with UF, let WVU off the hook (scott free apparently) for 4 games and now this waste.

How about South Carolina? Hasn't that series been changed too? Will they ever come to ECU? Because it doesn't look like it and it looks like ECU may have given them more games. Wasn't it 2 (USC-E) - 1 (ECU) - 1 (Charlotte)? Now what is it? Something like 3 or 4-1-1?

It was supposed to be 2 @USC 2 @Charlotte 1 @ECU. This years game was supposed to be in Charlotte but for whatever reason we let them move it to USC. I have no idea what compensation we got for that, but I doubt it will end up being worth it. Takes that game from being possibly winnable to very little shot.

North Carolina
at Virginia Tech

2019:

Good one. 03-lmfao I know enough about the type of players you guys recruit and I've read enough of Marshall fans' atrocious English to know this has to be a joke.

Wow you are ignorant. I guess they can't be all that bad if your staff was trying to steal a couple before NSD. I guess your one of the idiot ECU fans, the ones that give the ECU fan base a bad name that thinks two thirds of our roster are props. Last time I checked 10 of 108 isn't two thirds. But keep running your mouth.

I am indifferent to the game. It isn't a bad game for us, long way away.

It will be interesting to see if ECU buys out the 2021 game @ Marshall. Truth is playing @ Marshall is always tough even when they are down. I particularly don't like playing up there late in the season like last year and back in 2007.

I don't think Marshall would take the buyout.

We'll play at Navy and ECU at home in 2021. A bit of AAC flavor to the schedule. Providing the conferences still look the same in seven years.

Yep, I was trying to count all those Rhodes Scholars and Pulitzer Prize winners that have come out of ECU. You are a mid major program just like us. Always will be.
