FB OOC challenge for us vs the rest of the G5
Here is the C-USA OOC FB schedule vs other G5 conferences for 2014.

How do you see us doing vs the other 4? Could be an important piece for determing the access bowl participant and also which conference gets the largest share of the play-off money.

MAC opponents: Marshall @ Miami (Oh); Marshall vs Ohio; Marshall @ Akron; WKU vs Bowling Green; ODU vs EMU

SBC opponents: UAB vs Troy; LTU @ ULL; UTEP vs NMSU; USM vs App St

AAC opponents: UTSA @ Houston; UNT vs SMU; FAU vs Tulsa; MTSU @ Memphis

MWC opponents: UTEP @ New Mexico; FAU @ Wyoming; Rice vs Hawaii; UTSA vs New Mexico

Pretty sure UTEP can give the conference one win vs the SBC and there is a 50/50 chance for a Miner win vs UNM of the MWC. That game is on the road but the two teams went to OT last season. I think the conference has a real chance to be 5-0 vs the MAC, possibly 3-1 vs the SBC, possibly 3-1 vs the MWC and I see us going 1-3 (hopefully better) vs the AAC.

I came up with 11-6 over all.

while I doubt we do, it is possible we go 0'fer against the SBC.

No way, UTEP definitely gets the win against NMSU at home. I also like Southern Miss chances at home, but who knows with that one. 1-4 at worst against SBC I'd say.

9-8 or 10-7. Should definitely win more than we lose. The SB games are tough because its our lower teams vs. their upper teams. Agains the AAC I figure FAU and MTSU should win and the other two have a shot.

Beating Troy on opening day with a new starting QB and new staff is going to be difficult. I have hope going into every season, though.

I'm sure UAB, LTU, UTEP, and USM are thrilled with that vote of confidence.

UAB and USM had a combined 3 wins. It's the truth :/

Yes it will be tough but you lost a very close game last year and I believe UAB returns more than does Troy. They are a good program and a win would be a solid start for UAB's new staff.

Troy finished 6-6. NMSU finished 2-10. App State, who visits USM, finished 4-8 and will be in their first year at the FBS level. LaTech and ULL hate each other and anything can happen there.

No slam dunk by any means.

Nothing is guaranteed of course but I am confident that UTEP will win it's one game vs a Sun Belt team. If the Miners do lose to NMSU I will attempt to commit harakiri by overdosing on chili con queso washed down by gallons of dos equis. It might not work but I would at least stop caring about the outcome of the game for a while.

You're obviously a man in his right mind.04-cheers

Now, having said that, think of your family and what they'd suffer through if you spilled your guts (literally) on the living room floor after that menu. They'd have to call in HazMat to clean up that mess.07-coffee3

These are the key games. Seven of the eight are winnable (no faith in UTEP at New Mexico), but UTSA has the hardest match-ups. It is also hard for a sea level team like FAU to play at altitude in a place like Wyoming. Rice had that problem while part of the WAC. We layed some whippings on Boise State, BYU, and Utah in Houston, but lost big to those same teams on the road.

New Mexico State and App are upper teams? New Mexico State is horrible and App will have no more 20 guys on their roster who have touched a college football field during a game.
