All you Pastner apologists are the same. Pookie was the recruiting gem that we needed, more important than any coach.

Why all the sarcasm? It's almost irrelevant which kid it is. It's just another head sctracher attached to the pastner regime. Doesn't even matter because pastner will get a pass anyway. Doesn't matter what happens, josh comes out smelling like freaking flowers in the spring. Teflon josh. Time to refresh the Kool aid and drink up folks.

Exactly. Ditch this guy, we are the only program in the country that has players transfer, even if we were recruiting over him. So what? Players come first, they win games, not coaches.

Well send me to Jonestown then, by gosh. Or by Josh. Hell I'm beginning to think Josh may be the basketball version of Rey Dempsey.
Don't even think for one second that Josh ever does anything worthy of criticism or any close to that. Blasphemy I say!

What a crock.

I'm guessing the poster knew that.....

The young man has every right to play wherever he chooses. I would say I'm sorry he won't be a Tiger, but maybe we'll all be thankful. I was once "sorry" to Jelan Kendrick leave, too....

Good luck to him. We were hoping for the best best, but understand that things do not always work out.

We do know what happened. Pookie's father is a man with grossly misplaced priorities and after finding out what the conflict was, I'm glad to be rid of the helicopter parent that man obviously is.

Funny that I know what happened. I thought Jason Smith and John Martin tweeted out all things Roar gives people behind the paywall?

They often want to lead you to the CA paywall.

serious question. are any of the guards we have coming in next year top 100 HS players or were they top 100 coming out of HS since several are JUCOs? I have no clue but to use the "not Memphis good" or "we simply recruited over him" thing when talking about a top 100 recruit seems like it should only come from programs that consistently make it out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. Seems a little UKish is all I am saying (without all the success).

I was thinking the same thing. Probably also thinks Memphis is the only city that has crime, bad politicians and hot, muggy weather in the summer.

That's all Pastner's fault too, why do we put up with it?
Not only that, there's a group of renowned climatologists that claim to have found hard evidence that Pastner is responsible for climate change.

Dad wanted him in San Fran to workout with Frank all summer. Pastner wanted him in class. Dad said no.

Dad is an idiot with terrible priorities.

Not a big loss frankly. Want some length in that back-court. The other 3 guys are 6'3 and 6'4...am looking forward to some length and hopefully development of these young guys.

so when a kid commits we are all for him but if he decommitts, chooses another school, or transfers then he wasn't that good anyways???

I find that to be a problem he obviously was good or we wouldn't have signed him maybe we should lower our standards for what is good enough to play for Memphis because there won't be anymore #1 picks walking through our doors anytime soon. Pookie likely was talented enough for THIS Memphis Tigers team.

He was pretty good. Undersized shooting guard who had never played defense. He and family seem to have trouble with doing the required in order to become and stay eligible. Hate to lose him, but I would rather go for big guards who will defend rather than small guards who look to score rather than run the team and defend.
