and at BYU.

We had extensive talks with MoSt about an alternating years home and home. The snag, as is often the case, is where the series will start. So those discussions may have been for naught.

If we add nothing else we already have a great home schedule- 10 conference games, an OOC game against an NCAA team- Tulsa, and a rivalry game with UCA. Hopefully, we will end up with another midmajor at home as part of a home and home series. I'm sure we'll have a DII on the home schedule. That would be 14 home games and maybe another DII for 15.- doubt we have more than that unless we get one as part of an exempt tourney.

I really like the idea of playing UCA on a regular basis. We've talked about that for years, and hope it's now a reality. Oral Roberts would be a good home and home every year. We should be able to work that out. Unfortunately this season was probably the worst schedule we've had in awhile. We had really good schedules in prior years. Hopefully this year was an abberation.04-cheers

To get back to the original question, I'm not sure what my expectations are or should be. I do think we could have our most talented team in years. If Reid can really shoot it and one of the other 3 Jucos (2 signed, one we hope to sign next week) pans out we could be really good. Looking forward to next season already- now that college basketball is officially over.

Who said we're playing UCA?

Someone on the coaching staff who would obviously know. Interestingly, I was told the schedule is just about complete. Still, based on history, we might not get that last game or two set until the end of the summer.

According to Lunardi's, just a little bit early, 2015 Bracketology he has GaSt as a 12th seed. If that is close to accurate they will certainly run away with the Sun Belt regular season title once again.

Beyond the big two, I really doubt if he has looked to see what GaState has coming back. 300+ D1 teams is a lot to keep up with.

If the big 2 are back they will be very good. Two star players, along with some decent role players, is likely enough to win the league. If ULL gets Peyton and Long back, they will be right there as well. Okay, if Outside insists, my way too early expectation is 3rd place in the league. I reserve the right to change that if Peyton, Long, Harrow, or Hunter (he won't) leave. Or if we have any unexpected defections.

We generally have some unexpected defections. But maybe this year will be different.04-cheers

Every year we ought to expect to win 20 games and be in the top 3 in the league. Do that every year and the rest of it will take care of itself.

At this point, it's completely unrealistic to expect to win 20 games, since we haven't done it many times in the past 20 years.04-cheers

Well, I was assuming realism and expectations were two different things in this discussion.

I think of expectations to be based upon reality. Wishing is another thing altogether. I think we're all wishing for 20 win seasons, but most of us are not expecting them.04-cheers

"I expect you to" and "I expect they will" sort of have different connotations.
