So how is everyone feeling about their football teams?

Bad news is we lost most of the real difference makers in our recruiting class at the very end. Marshall is indeed loaded, but cup cake schedule will keep them out of chance to make noise for CUSA on the national scene.

Any unbeaten CUSA team will make noise for the conference on the national scene, and Marshall has a better chance to do that than anyone in conference. They might miss the 4-team playoff, but at a minimum they would be in an access bowl at 13-0.

If a couple of teams in conference step up this year and make Marshall's schedule stronger than it looks on paper right now, then I could even see the committee putting them in the playoff. By that, I mean two legitimate top 25 contending teams in conference, or three top 40.
But they have Rice and MTSU plus WKU & FAU at home, as well as the conference championship game in that scenario.

Meanwhile Rice will have to win "just" one game in Huntington to repeat. If at first we don't succeed we /might/ get a second crack at it.

Imagine how Mullens feels...

The OL better get after it in the weight room this summer.

I think some of that is coach speak. Ive heard the off season in the weight room has been good.
Also we got some great news today that the ncaa has given Alan Howze his redshirt year back. I feel better about our defense with him on the field.

Good news.....I'm happy for him, too.

No doubt some is coach speak, and Monken will naturally be harder on the O. They got better as the year went on but that line was absolutely porous last year.
