Transfer: Maurice Watson JR (PG from Boston U)
13.3 PPG 7.1 APG 2.1 SPG
Quote:“He has a dream and his dream was always to have an opportunity, one, to play in the NCAA Tournament, two, play in a packed arena and three, make it to the NBA,” Watson, Sr. said. “At this point, we feel that our best opportunity to reach those goals are on a bigger stage than BU. As great of a program as it is, we believe that it’s in a developing stage and that Maurice can’t take the chance of sticking around until they get to that point.”
“We’ve looked at the schools and we’ve looked at who’s leaving, graduating, who’s transferring, who’s going to need a transfer guard,” he said. “And when we think about programs like that we think about UConn, we think about Marquette, we think about a Stanford, who has some things going on. Those are schools that we looked at, that we’ve thought about, but we haven’t talked to any of them.”

He'll have to sit out a year though and is not an eligible-immediately graduate transfer.

If he was a grad transfer I'll take him in a heartbeat, regardless of height.

Hater.
Memphis really needs to go after the leading scorer from an NIT level Patriot league school. Especially a 5'10 guy guy who shoots 33% .
Get er done.

Yeah but he doesn't swear, says all the right things, and is a model citizen.
Gosh darn it, I like that. Basketball skills are so "secondary" when you think about it.

You left out 33% from three. In the Patriot League on an NIT caliber team...it changes the conversation.

Deandre Kane says hello
15pts 40% shooting 7assists 4 Rebounds...Don't judge a player only by his stats...But that being said I have no idea if he is any good.

Maybe you can scout him better than the "nondescript recruit" that you insisted would make an impact.
Brown was a 2.6 & 2.0 guy. Pretty nondescript to me.

7 assists per game is impressive. We obviously should have taken Kane last year.

No I didn't, you said it already, but you left out the part about 33% being from the 3, YOU just said he shot 33%, you gave misguided info about shooting. With him shooting 33% from 3 and him still shooting 50% from the field tells me he takes smart shots. The only alarming stat, is his 63% free throw percentage. Also you said an NIT level patriot league team. From what I gather, they pretty much dominated the conference, and lost in a close game in the conference tournament finals. Also Seth Curry average 21 for Liberty and shot 33% from 3 and I think that still worked out for Duke.

That was also a 20ppg Curry as a frosh, who still had years of development left.
In any event, the guy will have to sit out a year, so he has no bearing on next year's team.
