Mike was in Wiess with me and I consider him a true friend. First African-American signed by Rice to play football. Great player too.

Wonderful person and an excellent athlete and football player. This is a great loss far too soon. My prayers go out to all his family and friends.

He was my teammate alongwith Rodrigo and Stahle; I was a couple years older. We also both wound up in the Lions training camp together subsequent to our Rice careers, tho we both got injured (I had a broken ankle) and ultimately got a visit from the turk.

He was a good man, a fine athlete, and had a great personality. Its a shame he had to pass away at such a relatively young age.
