No big loss IMO. Plus Ball State is awful and lost to us 73-68. They finished 5-25 last year with an RPI somewhere in the 300's. Can't imagine they will move up the MAC ladder.

Brady better have his eye on some other JUCO's

I can't even remember the last time we had 13 available scholarship players from which to choose a starting lineup.(no redshirts, transfers sitting out, pre season injuries, academic/ disciplinary suspensions or just unused scholarships)

Tavan Jones from UVa announced he is transferring today. He was the starting pg for the Cavaliers last year. He would be a raising Junior. We need another pg to relieve Curry.

Kid played at fishburne pg, tough player.

If a coach could get him to play to his potential on defense and improve on shot selection we would be in business. Our program had no ties to him though except for distance. Will definitely find out if we are in the hunt for him.

Yeah - I'm sure he's looking to transfer down to the most dysfunctional teams in the country. It's a no brainer!!

He is transferring for one reason, playing time. And he would get that at JMU. He is very quick and can get to the basket. He will have to sit out a year where ever he goes.

And he can't shoot from perimeter, so we have that going for us.

RE: Who does Brady bring in?
A few Maryland guys just announced they are transferring- one of them Nick Faust at least used to be a good perimeter shooter. Seems like JMU isn't the only program with multiple guys leaving- if you follow this stuff this time of year it seems like a lot of programs have at leat 2 or 3 transfer- whether they are recrutied over or on to greener pastures its hard to tell.

RE: Who does Brady bring in?
Maryland had Nick Faust, Shaq Cleare, and Roddy Peters transfer, all top 100 recruits.

Peters was a top 50 national recruit but missed his senior year of high school due to injury and seemed a little timid at times for UMD. He would have 3 years of eligibility and probably A-10 bound is my guess.

Cleare doesn't seem to have the talent between the ears, but at 6'9" 270 and built like a tank he could do well beating up on the Taylor Bessicks of the world. He was probably overrated anyways as his AAU team had the Harrison twins that just played for Kentucky. 2 years of eligibility and originally from Texas.

Faust is an athlete that plays good defense but is an offensive liability who seems to have a history of untimely turnovers. If he were transferring last year I could see him at a school like VCU. With only 1 year of eligibility I would think he would transfer to a conference slightly lower than CAA level.

I would HOPE Brady contacts Peters at least. PGs with Peters' talent don't just grow on trees. One more year of rehab and practicing against college players could make him the kind of guy that carries a mid-major come March in a few years.

If Vodonavich and Kent start for us next year, we won't win 10 games.

He's visiting JMU this weekend and Minnesota in two weekends. Looks like stiff competition for him.

RE: Who does Brady bring in?
Would be a good get for Brady and the staff if he picks JMU over Minnesota and Richard Pitino.

Here's another NC kid who just uncommitted to App State. Looks like he will be in demand as well and he is a PG. I thought one of the sites listed him as someone who JMU was recruiting at one point.

RE: Who does Brady bring in?
Looks like Graham will be way out of our league. Hey say this about JMU at least they don't play these games of not allowing kids to get out of their scholarship. I saw where Marshall was doing that with a player this year as well.

Mason Forward Anali Okoloji is visiting JMU today. Looks like he would be immediately eligible as well to possible join Arledge in an ex Mason front court?

Didn't he initially attend Seton Hall before Mason? I think so.

RE: Who does Brady bring in?
I think we've got the 6'8" 215-220 slot saturated already. Call me crazy, but I see a need for a big guy, good outside shooter and ball handler....not necessarily in that order.
