Track & Field update
It was a busy weekend for our teams, with some nice results. Here is a summary:

4- Evan Karokolis 69.12 m. (226' 9")
[Moves him to #13 on the NCAA list]

Men's Pole Vault
2 - Chris Pillow 5.50 m. (18' 0.50")
[Moves him to a tie for 3rd on the NCAA list]

Decathlon
10 - Scott Filip 7,045 points
[Moves him to #12 on the NCAA list]

Victor Lopez Classic

Women's 1,500 meters (overall placements from all of Friday's heats combined)

3 - Heather Olson 4:32.88 (heat 3)
4 - Allie Schaich 4:35.56 (heat 3)
--------------------------------------------
5 - Cali Roper 4:35.98 (heat 2)
6 - Katie Jensen 4:37.08 (heat 2)

Women's 5,000 meters

1 - Cali Roper 17:22.76
[Moves her to #88 on the NCAA list]

What is interesting about this, is that Cali ran the 1,500 on Friday night, and just a few minutes later, won the 5,000. Ever try that? She was doing both as a workout, so as to prepare her for running fast at Stanford and/or Mount SAC.

Men's 5,000 meters

3 - John Cavallo 14:45.39
4 - Will Firth 14:46.18
[Moves Cavallo to #92 on the NCAA list]

Men's 3,000 meter steeplechase

1- Wyatt Doop 9:17.09
3 - Travis Roberts 9:34.04
[Moves Doop to #35 on the NCAA list, and Travis Roberts to #73.

Women's Pole Vault

1 - McKenzie Johnson
[She had no-heighted at the Texas Relays on Friday, and wanted to make up for it on Saturday at our meet. She is #15 on the NCAA list due to an previous effort]

Women's Triple Jump

1 - Daisy Ding 12.44 meters (40' 9.75")
[Moves her to #31 on the NCAA list]

Women's High Jump

1- Belle MacFarlane 1.70 meters (5' 7")
[Moves her to #67 on the NCAA list]

Men's Long Jump

2 - Ben Pressley 7.25 meters (23' 9.50")
5 - Justin Gross 7.11 meters (23' 4")
[Moves Pressley to #46 and Gross to #76 on the NCAA list]

Women's Shot Put

1 - Claire Uke 16.28 meters (53' 5")
[Claire is #2 on the NCAA list due to a previous effort]

Women's Discus

1 - Claire Uke 48.25 meters (158' 4")
[Moves her to #56 on the NCAA list]

Men's 1,500 meters

2 - William Roberts 3:51.34
[Moves him to #83 on the NCAA list]

Women's 4 x 100 meter relay

1 - RICE 45.96
[Moves RICE to #48 on the NCAA list]

Men's 110 Meter Hurdles

1 - Filip Drozdowski 14.51
[He is #67 on the NCAA list due to a previous effort]

Women's 400 Meters

2 - Tyneisha McCoy 55.09
[Moves her to #41 on the NCAA list]

Men's 800 Meters

2 - Alex Weinheimer 1:51.93
[Moves him to #63 on the NCAA list]

Women's 10,000 Meters

4 - Chrissy Wassef 38:51.01
[Moves her to #53 on the NCAA list. THIS will change after the Stanford meets and Mount SAC. Those meets will create fast times that will dominate the NCAA list]

High School Boys 1,500 Meters

1 - Bradley Dohner, Klein Oak 4:01.88
[This time places Dohner, a Rice signee, at #1 in the nation on the high school list in the 1,500 meters. However, it is rarely contested among high school runners, so one should not get too excited. This time extrapolates to approximately 4:19.80 in the 1600 meters, a time that would rank about #80 in the nation]
