Sean Kilpatrick - 1st Team AP All-American
Just released. Looks like he will be 2nd team consensus All-American.

Here is my interview with SK upon finding out he made AP 1st team:

Retired number? Jersey on the wall?
What a great representative of the University. Not a one and done, not
a "look at me" player, will graduate.
The AP writers got this one right.

Would love to see SK's jersey retired. However, if we retire SK's jersey I think Logan's needs to go up too.

Great interview Tommy 04-bow

Really sucks that his career ended the way that it did, but it had many more highs than it did lows. Best luck in the future to SK, and the other three seniors as well.

In my opinion, you can't put his jersey on the wall before Steve Logan. Then there's Fortson, who was consensus first and second team his last two years here. The real question is how exclusive you want the jerseys hanging on the wall to be.

I recall someone's explanation for leaving Logan/Fortson off was that retired jerseys required player of the year honors, not only AA status.

Happy for SK. I wish our tournament performance was better but you can't deny the honors and awards this team received. Add in the conference championship and this group will be well represented in the history books and on the arena walls.

i think that's accurate. MC says that there is stuff up at the practice facility, which is great for the players to see, but i think the fans and players would appreciate a ring of honor for AAs. Not retiring anything, because you want to keep numbers in play, but having a ring around fifth third would be pretty cool, and something that Killa can point out when he comes back.

Aren't AA's names listed on the wall under the UCats Club in 5th/3rd?

That's what I always heard, only AP POY would get jerseys retired.

Jack Twyman was never player of the year.

His humanitarian efforts for Maurice Stokes might be the reason, I don't think Jack was a first team All American.

Jack Twyman is enshrined in the National Basketball Hall of Fame, that's why.

Fortson and Logan were both consensus 1st team all American, where SK will not be, however he did score over 2,000 points.
