If Old Dominion had the recent basketball success of VCU, this might be a different story. But if Temple, Cincinnati, or Memphis get the big promotion, UMass will be the next in line. The only exception would be if UConn leaves at the same time as one of Temple, Cincinnati, or Memphis, in which case the American may just simply exit the northeast. The exception to the exception would be if Buffalo is deemed worthy by the rest of the AAC, and would even be interested in a league without Connecticut and one of the AAC's other big names.

There are too many scrubs on that list. I don't believe it would go down like that at all.

Membership would be based on the best available program, IMO. The AAC Presidents are very particular about academic fit. It's why Tulane was chosen.

I think Rice would have a shot. ODU and Umass would have a shot.

I don't envision the directionals entering the equation. They simply don't have the academic profile or brand recognition.

Also, don't rule out staying at 10 or 11, depending on how the contract stands at that time.

AAC is not expanding. If it did I would only consider BYU, Army and Air Force.

Some of those moves hurt. But some actually helped CUSA.

Tulane was voted in by the C7 and then they left.

Of course there are going to be scrubs on the list ... if the American gets raided, its going to have to decide between staying at the smaller size and taking schools that are less attractive on average than the schools that left.

The good news for the AAC is that UC looks a lot like a #12 for the Big12, but with no #11 in sight, so its more likely than not to be a moot point.

As far as immediate plans ... if they were even thinking about it, I think that make it less likely Aresco says so flat out that the American has no plans to expand.

I know you're new, but posting this was a phucking stupid move.

So advise the guy to delete his first post, thus deleting this thread. We now have two threads with the same subject on this board....
