We cannot afford another member. And we don't need to be another weird hybrid conference.

Only reasonable options are BYU.. Boise St minus any special deal.. If anything they pay more to get in now.. San Diego St. But again it would have to be for all sports. No more hybrid crap.

What they said. We have a great set of schools and are poised to take this conference to the next level.

Umass I am sorry bro...

These two teams are precisely the kings of the non P5. Adding these two would greatly benefit the conference.

Added Eyeballs In tv viewership.
More identity to the American
Stability
A stronger voice when time for TV money negotation
a sense of almost(power) excluding (ECU, Tulsa, Tulane-- sorry folks we got to prove we belong here)

North = UConn, Temple, ECU, Navy, Cincy, Memphis, Wichita

South = USF, UCF, Houston, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, BYU

What it means for BYU and Wichita:
For Wichita: A stable schedule for Wichita for sure, this is by the best non P5 basketball conference(FK A-10 and Big East).

Money, once the renegotiations are set and done. We will have enough money per school that would make it attractive.

For BYU: This is strech... There is not a huge step up for BYU from being indy to come to AAC. There is however a stable schedule, possible money( dont know how much they get from ESPN and NBC)....

but Definetly BYU would be able to build rivalries.

BYU-Navy
BYU - Cincinnati
BYU- ECU
BYU- Houston , UCF, USF

Cmmon BYU!!!

Let's focus here for a second shall we... UCONN's in the NCAA Final Four, SMU's in the NIT Final Four, the UCONN Women are in the NCAA Final Four, so let's enjoy the AAC being at the top of the college basketball world and call a cease fire on the expansion threads... Baseball season is going strong also, so there are a lot of AAC related topics to talk about that don't have to do with day dreaming about adding more schools 04-cheers

This league is just mauling the MWC and without a doubt in the conversation with the P5s, which is what we need right now. Have to get that contract re-negotiated ASAP, ESPN should be jailed for that thievery.

What does the 'State' stand for in Wichita State University?

WSU is larger than Tulane, SMU, and Tulsa in terms of undergraduate enrollment.

Yes, our media payout is so meager there's no sense in trying to slice it even more ways.

It wasn't thievery at the time. AAC has to prove themselves for more than one year as a conference. But so far, the conference is off to a good start. .

UMass was, before Tulsa... IF, the AAC wants to offset Navy, who than!?! Remember, Mike Aresco and Houston like/want additional northeast exposure.

you realize Houston has a better resume than that?

and i don't fear competition, and in basketball its a great thing as it increases rpi

wichita adds little value money wise on their average season which isnt a tourney team, they have a decent run under their current coach but its almost certain he will be hired away in the next 2 years. if not this season to Marquette or Tennessee

im looking for who can increase our value money wise and not unless wichita pulls 30-0 season every year they arent the add. a decent to bad wichita is dead weight

You can't dispute Wichita being a good program. But really, you have to look at the big picture and consider if adding them would add $2-3 million more a year to the other 12 members. Is Wichita State basketball worth an extra $26-35 million a year to ESPN? That's the question that needs to be answered.
