Brandon Mayes @ spring scrimmage
Article...

Looks like Brandon Mayes (CB/S) got some nice attention on defense. Mayes redshirted last year as a freshman but may get a lot of playing time this fall. We'll see.

Mayes is one of four Aurora Christian recruits on the NIU team. He's probably the AC player with the least amount of attention thus far. Beebe is getting a lot of talk at slot receiver, Bouagnon has proven himself to be a quality running back, and of course Maddie is getting a lot of attention in the QB competition. But Mayes has incredible agility, speed, leadership and football swagger. He's put on a lot of (good) weight during his redshirt season and could be a big contributor for the Huskies in years to come.

Here is Mayes senior highlight footage at Aurora Christian.

You'll see Beebe #82 and Bouagnon #23 in the video, also.

The more new corners on the field the better.

Mycial Allen and Durante are out for the spring which is why Mayes is getting so many reps. Not a bad thing, it's good he's getting the action now. Curious what's wrong w Allen. I saw him tweeting about a leg brace and his HS coach wishing him a speedy recover and bigtime comeback
