Daniels is looking like one hell of a player now. Could he work his way into the NBA this year?

Yeah unless UCONN comes out hot to start the 2nd half again, this game will be over. Still playing good defense though so who knows. The last shot they made was a Nap 3 with around 6 minutes left in the half.

Amazing coaching on both sides. When the shots go in.

How about the fact that a coach is supposed to put his players in the right position to make shots through sets, strategies and an overall offensive concept. How about that? The coach is also supposed to possess the ability to evaluate his players and put them in structures that allow them to take advantage of their abilities and defend the other team. There is that too. When plan A doesn't work, a coach is supposed to have optional plans waiting to plug in to help his players compete on both sides of the ball.
Those are things coaches are supposed to do. At least good coaches.

UCONN vs. Michigan St Elite 8 game
I like just watching teams actually play defense and give it their all.. There are a lot of 3's being shot in this game because of the great D being played on both ends..

How about not turning this into a bitching thread? How about that?

Back to the original topic...this is a fun game. UConn is playing very well defensively. If Michigan State cools of or Giffey starts hitting a couple of these wide open 3s, UConn has a chance here. They are representing the conference very well!

Napier sure is being put in the right position to make shots. He just brings the ball across half court, runs down the clock, then breaks down the defense. If he doesn't do it, its not getting done for UCONN. Amazing coaching that 'developed' him.

Question for you, if it is all about coaching, why aren't the other UCONN players stepping up like Napier? I have seen wide open looks for them, but they are not making the shots. Napier is. He has 1/2 of their points. I do give them credit because they play tough D and rebound. Props to the coach for that. But I stick with my claim, Players play. And Napier is a big time player.

Congrats to UCONN. They could win it.
