Groundout, K, and then a double by Ewing (assist by wet ground).

Followed by another K to end the T1.

This would be a good day to remember how to hit again.

MT's free video is up now: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client...Type=video

For now, I've muted their sound to listen to JP's call.

Wow. That outfield looks like a pond with grass growing in it. I thought Williamson was going to hydroplane. He left a rooster tail.

MT Baseball ‏@MT_Baseball
First Pitch: 4:02 p.m. 53 degrees, cloudy and windy.

Lots of standing water in the outfield. "Splish-splash" (if WRCisforgotten is on this thread :-) )

And Byrd hangs one up to CF where the CF has plenty of time to swim up to it. Still 0-0 going to B2.

Play at the plate!! Rice prevails! 5-2 gets the runner from 3rd! Then a pickoff for the 3rd out. Wow, Owls playing with fire but escape B2 unscathed. Nice job, Blake.

Play at the plate reminiscent of last Tuesday's play against UH, only this time with a better result.

Double and a groundout moved a MTSU runner to 3d. Ewing goes home with a FC and the runner misses the plate trying to avoid the tag and is tagged out after he slides past.

Then a pickoff to 1B puts the runner in a rundown to end the inning.

Thought Reeves tagged him on the slide, but when the ump didn't make a call, was surprising Reeves waited so long before applying a second tag while they were all standing around looking at each other...

Cook fails on the sac bunt, then hits into a textbook DP - MTSU made it look easy.

JP comments on how this weekend is the first big test of MT's new irrigation system, on which they'd "spent quite a chunk of change."

I think he meant to say "drainage" system.

Kind of the opposite of irrigation, JP.

Good thing there's that mini-lake in the outfield. Could've been a triple otherwise.

Williamson breaks to his left on a ball hit toward him ... but it goes to his right, and he can't snag it on a splashing dive. Batter makes it to second.
