Good, UAB or Charlotte or USM or LT according to this story. Good luck with it.

What does the writer have against UTEP? First he says UTEP lost their first game in this year's tourney, which is a total fabrication. We lost our second game. 05-mafia Then he says LT will be the runaway favorite for the conference title next season because of their returning players. UTEP has more returning players then LT. Not sure I like this guy at all. 02-13-banana

I think the article was written as a quick response to the Hattiesburg American article that said UAB was likely to bid for 2015.

Talking with some folks yesterday, we were all in agreement that UTEP and LA Tech (and in this conference, probably others) will be in tight competition next season. I would think that we have you at home this year but who knows with CUSA scheduling.

wish Norfolk/Virginia Beach would make a bid for a future basketball tournament

I'm sure UAB, USM, LT, Charlotte, ODU, WKU, MT would all be great host schools for the tournament since they love their basketball and are normally going to be expected to be in the mix for the top portion of the league. I think UNT and probably Marshall can get to that point too.

I'd be happy with it being in almost any of the eastern division cities outside of Florida.

I'd also go if it was in Birmingham. I might go if USM hosted, but that would ultimately depend on flight costs.

I think Birmingham would be very well attended though. It's a reasonable drive for Charlotte, MT, WKU, USM and LT fans.

According to this(the pertinent section is at the bottom of the article):http://hamptonroads.com/2014/03/cusa-tourney-far-cry-and-flight-caa-days

ODU is interested and trying. The big hold up or complication appears to be that the Downtown Norfolk Arena (the Scope) is being used for the MEAC tournament through 2015. Starting in 2016 it is possible that ODU could host both tournaments with the Men's taking place at the larger Scope while the women's could be held at the Ted only a few minutes down the road.

I'd be buying a couple all session tickets myself... of course I have to drive 30 minutes to get there... not quite the distance some of you guys would...

It's a lot more central than UTEP nevertheless. (no offense to anyone in El Paso as you guys do a good job with it)

I have no problem with b'ham. They have some great golf courses which would be my source of spending money......have taken many a day trip to that town.....

The gulf coast would be perfect too.....

I could see a Charlotte, Biloxi, Birmingham rotation working out in the future.

No offense taken. I will be interested in seeing the numbers of traveling fans attending in Birmingham. Might become the conference favorite site.

I am all for Birmingham. Easy drive for the majority of teams.

Yep, I am sure most WKU fans would agree.....If we have the sucessful season we expect to have, I am sure we would have a good contigent of WKU fans down in Birmingham....Not that it means much, but we by far had the most fans for this past SB tournament in New Orelans for 1 game and that was with the team who won it 2 hours away..Of course a few of the cajun posters stated they had a softball and baseball home series scheduled same day, haha...

I would be down for Birmingham.

Also, I seriously doubt Charlotte is putting in a bid. The city is hosting the CIAA and NCAA next year. The Bobcats would be on the road the entire month of March....not happening.

Baseball would be a no-brainer! Basketball...not so sure unless it will be at Bartow Arena. The girls could play at the newly renovated Fair Park Arena.
