2015 CUSA Tournament
Does anyone know when they will announce the location?

Wood has said previously ODU was exploring bidding to host. Anyone know if we did? I was on the CUSA boards and saw where the folks at UAB want to host it and cities such as Biloxi, MS and Nashville, TN, and Dallas/North Dallas, TX have been tossed out. Outside of Norfolk, Richmond, Raleigh, or DC (the later three being neutral sites which would struggle to gain attendance) there is not a location too convienient for ODU fans.

I was also under the impression (I don't know why), that the tournaments TV contract was also up and that CUSA was hoping to renegotiate that. Is this true?

RE: 2015 CUSA Tournament
I have no clue about the 2015 tourney location.

As far as the TV contract, I believe it runs out in the next couple of years (maybe 2016). I believe Harry mentioned something about it recently.

Charlotte is drivable. Wouldn't mind it being there either.

I don't think we can offer Richmond (not that we'd want to). My understanding is you need two arenas, as men and women's tournaments will be simultaneous. I think ODU might have to offer the Ted and Hampton because of scheduling conflict at Scope? (Rumor) IF they build the 18,000 seat arena at the beach, I'd think we'd be golden. Wood definitely interested.

Wood has said Scope and the Ted but this was some time ago. The conflict was with the MEAC which I am sure the city could add some incentives to either CUSA or MEAC to change their weekend and to host to D1 tournaments would be great for the city.

USM, UAB, and Charlotte expected to bid. Bids will be voted on in May at conference spring meetings.

Hope Charlotte wins. Can't imagine what a trip to UAB or USM would cost. At least with Charlotte you can find a hotel for a night and not be stuck with several days if we lose... or if we make the championship game, we could all leave at 5AM Saturday morning and bus a few thousand in.

Not sure how a split city bid would work.
