didn't accomplish much in the tourny, spent just one year here, but we clearly haven't had a player as special as him in almost a decade.

Michael Carter-Williams, flamed out against Michigan in the Final Four, but had a nice tournament otherwise - went HAM against 1 Indiana with 24 points. He led us to a Final Four and is currently tearing up the NBA, is definitely SU's best since Carmelo.

Ennis will be remembered for the shot against Pitt. That's really it. People will remember the 25-0 start as a 25-0 start, not about Ennis. It's a shame he didn't return, although I understand why he left. I think next year will be special with McCullough and it will contribute to Ennis' legacy not being so great.

i was really looking forward to the Roberson/Richardson/McCullough combo.

I am happy for him but hate it for us. We have not had a ton of one and done over the years and it lets us see players grow and develop. It feels like we hardly got to know him and because we flamed out in the tournament his legacy will be non-existent beyond the shot at Pitt.

College basketball isn't what it used to be.

I've been talking about this phenomenon all season. The problem with college basketball is not that the NCAA Tournament renders the conference tournaments and regular season meaningless. The problem is that most of the stars leave before you really get to embrace them as either a hero or a villain.

You don't think that would have been fun next year when Syracuse comes to the Pete to play Pitt? That would have been AWESOME. Now, it will just be another footnote.

I miss the days when you could really embrace guys like Ewing and Laettner and Reddick as legitimate villains to be scorned. Nowadays, those guys are all gone after a year or two at the most.

That's not to mention that the basketball itself is worse than it was in those days. Because there are so many young players playing pivotal roles on their teams, the mistakes are many and the fundamentals almost always lacking. There's less flow to the game, guys shoot the ball much worse than they once did and there's less defensive structure. It's just a lesser game all the way around.

I strongly support Larry Scott's idea whereby guys are eligible straight out of HS and not again until after they turn 21 years-old. That's like the baseball and football models and I think that would have an ENORMOUSLY positive impact on college basketball and pro basketball too, as they will be getting more polished products.

The only problem with that proposal is I'm not sure the NBA would agree to that in the first place. Also, I'm sure that some would be pro basketball prospect would challenge that rule in court and I'm told by may attorney friends that such a challenge would stand an excellent chance of succeeding. However, if the colleges could prevail, it would make college basketball SO much better and its popularity would soar to new heights.

fab melo & james southerland have both been academically ineligible within the past 2 years. our top commit for next year (McCullough) was kicked out of a prep school for something that was most likely academic's related

richardson = Malachi Richardson #10 ranked recruit for 2015, committed to syracuse.

Got it. I've learned (slowly) not to get too invested in who will play with whom down the road until the draft is over and recruits are actually enrolled.

He has no legacy, he'll be just a memory. He spent one year at Syracuse and we didn't do very well in the NCAA tournament. I don't think that qualifies for a legacy.
