RE: P5 breakaway not out of the question
65 is too few teams to break away there are not enough teams to be at the bottom and too many teams year in and year out at the bottom perennially to tolerate that

it will have to be 80 to 96 teams

100 players on scholarship is just plain stupid there are already too many illiterate mush mouths on NCAA teams as it is they need to be CUTTING the number of players on scholarship not adding to it that is just a ridiculous idea

every team going to a bowl is a horrid idea especially since there will be so many with huge losing records

get real about the left over conferences and teams having anything to do with those that break away they will have nothing to do with the conferences and teams that break away and they will do their little playoff thing that no one will care about and then they will finally figure that out

12 conference games is a terrible idea that adds no strength to any conference and it just makes for terrible match ups year in and year out and it leaves way too many questions about who is actually good and not good before any 4 or even 8 team playoff happens.......just a TERRIBLE idea

as for the union thing it is not going to turn out how those mush mouth losers at NW and their union buffoons think it will

there is ZERO chance in hell (or anywhere else) that a university can have players unionized or even worse treated as employees

once some future felon mush mouthed buffoon is an employee the amount of risk to a university becomes MASSIVE....as an employee any mistreatment of a fellow student while on "company" property or while doing anything that remotely represents the "company" opens the "company" up to MASSIVE liability.......these new idiotic "employees" will be subjected to 100% of the employee manual than that means say something wrong to one of the "customers" (students that are not athlete "employees") that will have to be dealt with just like an employee at any business

accusations of sexual harassment that are even remotely verified will equal FIRED.....there will be no second chances for throwing your GF down the stairs (shout out to you lawarence phillips) and more than likely that will result in a MUCH BIGGER and more easily litigated lawsuit against the university......there will be no rapist on the team (shout out to you darrell williams Jamise winston).....no more shoving fans in the stands (shout out to you jamarcus not so smart) and on and on

say something rude to a maid or janitor or campus cop or security guard.......you are no longer a coddled "skrudent aflete" you are an EMPLOYEE and as an EMPLOYEE you will be subjected to 100% of the employee handbook PERIOD.......there will be ZERO ability for a university to have separate employee handbooks or treatment because some employees are "athlete employees"......to attempt to do so means many more lawsuits........fail a drug test one time FIRED just like an EMPLOYEE

and please don't pretend that universities will be rewriting their employee handbooks to allow all the stupid and foolish behaviors that athletes are allowed a pass on now for all employees

there could even be issues with dating between "employees" and students and there will SURELY be lawsuits galore (shout out to you gloria allred) from students that felt harassed or pressured by "employees"

these idiots have no idea what it will mean to be "employees" instead of students and they will get hammered and the ability to recruit some of these fools with existing criminal records (because again the EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK will not allow people with particular convictions even as minors) to be EMPLOYEES

and again more than likely this will fail either the legislatures will get involved or universities will go back to what I have been saying which is concentrating on academics and that will weed out a large portion of these "get paid" idiots to start with and even if they do become "employees" at some or all schools or any schools that will be terrible for most of those same idiots

there is no way only 65 schools split off, there is no way they ADD to players on scholarship and there is no way they allow them to become employees unless they totally screw most of these get paid fools in the process probably even including academic "employment' goals as well that equal FIRED

I seriously hope we do. I want ECU in a P5 conference away from the constant commuter trash you play week in and week out.

Obviously schools will be grandfathered in but ECU deserves a seat at a big boy table.

I respect Ruffin. I respect the 50K Pirate fans that show up to see ECU play, not the opponent.
Who cares what you want troll, you go to tx tech who can't do anything without big brothers approval. Btw if UCF is included in your inaccurate description of "commuter trash" you've got some explaining to do about how they manhandled your b-12 champions who in turn manhandled your team. I will agree that ECU deserves and will eventually find themselves in a p-5 conference

If the shoe fits?? Congrats on beating our worst champion in years. Even though directional U will never have a chance, do it against the Texoma 4 and then brag. Beating baylor is nothing to brag about. Texas Tech did it for 15-16 years in a row.

Just ignore him Knight fans. Tech alumni know nothing about conference football championships. It's like asking a hampster about rocket science.

How is conference irrelevancy treating uh? Any chance uh sells out a single game next season in new coog stadium? It only seats 40K, it shouldn't be that hard

Once again. It will be the Majors and a few others that help "shield" them from litigation. New rules will be instated for whom can be part of the new division and those rules will allow that gatekeeper division to be able to choose and deny schools from entry based upon conditions out of their control.

Everyone's Six is covered.

RE: P5 breakaway not out of the question
It stuns me Tech fans actually BRAG about the fact that West Texas is so boring that every adult male within 200 miles of Lubbock drives in to the "big city" 7 times a year to watch a team that's never had a top-10 finish and hasn't won a conference championship since the 50s.

LOL. Good luck with pine box.

I have no love for kent hance but he recognizes leaving a Big 12 Texas University for a left behind commuter school is a step down.

For the record, I can't stand Kent Hance. He fired Mike Leach and was solely responsible for hiring the riverboat fraud.

How is the humidity and mosquitoes?

Any chance the City of Houston can lay to claim to a P5 conference member?

Any chance the City of Houston will get behind their University and fill up a 40 k seat stadium?

The jersey says Houston but the students/alumni/citizens could care less.

Try someone else... I don't buy anything out of that tiny uninteresting lubock town. 07-coffee3
