UAB head coach Jerod Haase said they have reached out to Auburn and Pearl about playing a game next season, perhaps at BJCC Arena.

Bring it on. We'll be there.

Why don't we have some type of Hardwood Classic?
We could invite Alabama & South Alabama to join in & we could rotate who we play every year?
Maybe someone like Arby's could sponsor it.

As long as we keep the gate. Otherwise Bartow. I would rather play in Bartow. (My feelings on it)

We tried that before. Bama was the fly in the ointment. Screw them. Pit UAB and USM against Auburn and say Vandy or UGA?

Get Vandy, Ga. Tech, Memphis & UAB; currently from 4 different conferences; and rotate home sites every 4 years.

It's bad enough bringing Auburn to Birmingham. Let's continue to keep UAT out of Birmingham.

As I have stated before, I don't care for basketball at the BJCC. If UNC and LSU can play at The Bart, so can Auburn.

Home and wherever Auburn wants to play.

Also Haase needs to sound less eager to make Auburn happy. They need UAB more than UAB needs them.

I think Haase knows by now what UAB needs, as much S anyone on this board does. And I dont know if UAB needs Pearl, but looking at last yrs attendance figures, they need something.

Play one at the BJCC, one at Auburn and one at Bartow.

Would it count as a neutral game for RPI purposes if we played at the BJCC or would it be a home game?

Agree 100%. Lets not kid ourselves and pretend that UAB doesn't need to do something to generate more casual fan interest.

I think the game needs to be at Bartow Arena. Let's face it, although the BJCC is bigger, Bartow Arena is a better facility.

If it's a home game for us. And we keep the gate it counts as a home game if it is a neutral game where we split everything with Auburn than it counts as neutral site game.

For what it's worth- that school in Tuscaloosa does NOT need to be included. The way the trustees have treated us? To hell with them!!!

Invite all of the Division I schools to play at the BJCC, except Alabama. Call it the Championship of Alabama tournament. Then sit back and watch them turn red and explode.

The University of Alabama will be represented there.

Amen! And considering "donation" amounts are increasing, attendance is likely going to decline... at least in the seats that you'll see on the news broadcast or the occasional TV game.

Many times in the past, games were played @ BJCC to make it an eligible NCAA tourney site. Rules say the venue must have hosted an NCAA game that season (for lower rounds. Don't think applies to Final Four site). Since the BJCC is no longer considered a viable tourney site, probably not so much pressure to get a game in there.
