VMI still alive in the CIT
VMI is trying to make it to the final 4 of the CIT tonight. They can do so with a win at Ohio.

Right now VMI is down 2 with 15 mins left.

I've been there. It's a little dated but they have great fan and student support. There really is nothing else to do in Athens, Ohio besides watch football and basketball...and drink.

It doesn't look like VMI is a gimme anymore, as they were when they left the SoCon. These guys are pretty good.

VMI wins 92-90. They'll play in the CIT final four on Tuesday. The game will be on CBS Sports Network.

Looks like SoCon bball will be improved with VMI, Mercer, and the Bucs.

Yale @ VMI in the semi. Game will be on CBS Sports Network at 7pm next Tuesday.

The other semi is Pacific @ Murray State. That game will air at 9pm.

I think VMI will win by 20+. I hope they win the whole thing.

I was a tad wrong on this one... I meant to say Yale by 20! Haha

I saw Mercer destroy Yale, and I thought VMI's fast and furious style would wear Yale down quickly.

Now it's them and Murray State for the CIT title.

RE: VMI still alive in the CIT
VMI now loses 2 of it's big 3, including 6'9" 235 stud D.J. Covington (20.1 ppg on .593 shooting, 9.3 rpg, 3 blocks).

Wofford will be the team to beat in the SoCon. They return everybody of any consequence from the team that made it to the NCAA's this year (20-13 and 11-5 in conference), and add 6'8" Evansville transfer Jr. Ryan Sawvell. They are not scary good: front court is 2 6'6" guys and a 6'7", but they have learned how to play together and win. VMI, Mercer and ETSU (and Chattanooga and Western Carolina for that matter) have big holes to fill.

But the conference should definitely be more winnable than the ASun was this year.

Watched part of that game and VMI couldn't get anything going. Yale was doing a great job of slowing the pace down. Plus it helped that VMI couldn't hit a shot. Also VMI's arena looked nearly sold out, which was nice to see.

RE: VMI still alive in the CIT
I have been to some games up there at VMI and watched a bunch on TV and have never seen that many people there.. good for them!!!!!

IT's a hard place to play on the road with those Keydets going wild.. I think that was the place we got beat when we were ranked in the top 10???

App State is trying to get their coach......
