In somewhat good news, PITT committ OG Rob Dowdy from Ohio de-comitted and is a possible Wisc pick up.

Sucks but at least we'll see who really wants to be Huskies. Hopefully these guys stick...

Wisconsin offered Ingold as a linebacker and offered Hughes a greyshirt so they'll have some interesting decisions to make. Ingold: QB here vs. linebacker at Wisky. Hughes: Full scholly here in '15 vs. waiting around until next January to enroll full time at Wisky.

It was bound to happen. It's hard to put together a good class when you hire a new coach after the season. Staff knows these guys and a bunch of Huskie OL commits from wisky are proven to be safe recruits.

As you guys said...Levon Meyers types or several that went the other way, we shall see.

I think Myers may be the only WI high schooler I can remember that turned down a Wisconsin offer for NIU.

I noticed that as well. I also remember that Myers was ticked off when Maxwell decomitted last year, so maybe him having gone to the same high school will have an effect.

I've posted this before, but I talked to Myers and his dad in Detroit his redshirt year. I told Levon I was impressed that he stayed with NIU after he was offered by Wisconsin. His dad and him both said in our family we honor our commitments. Not only is the kid a good talent but he has a good head on his shoulders as well. I think that bodes well for the type of players we recruit and play at NIU

No matter who is the head coach, the recruiting mentality has always been the same: "Get the best possible person who wants to be at NIU." If someone decides to decommit, the next man up policy applies here too.

As far as Ingold is concerned why not commit to the program that is recruiting you to play the position you have worked you butt off to develop at in HS vs having to switch positions and let's face it; who gets more touches and who gets more ink when the team wins; the QB or a LB.

Let's face it at this point if he comes here to play QB, in 2 years it's his position to lose.

Can he play LB? I hope he goes where his heart is. If he really wants to try to be a D1 Qb come to DeKalb. Do not go to Madison because other people would like you in Madison. Don't."dream" of playing for Wisconsin if you can not see yourself mashing in the pits with 240lb fullbacks.

Let's face it at this point if he comes here to play QB, in 2 years it's his position to lose.

Ingold hasn't taken a single college practice snap. McIntosh was the favorite to replace Lynch and then he was playing safety. Landon Root was hyped as the next QB and he's gone before taking a single meaningful snap. Nothing is guaranteed. Not to mention there are about 500 other factors to consider when you decide which school you want to go to. Playing QB or playing LB isn't the only thing he's thinking about and for all we know he could get switched to RB, LB, S or any other position at NIU. He looks like a great player and he has a difficult decision to make. I hope we get him. If not they'll find someone else.
