Does the conference get money for teams advancing in the NIT the same way they do in the NCAA?

Even though its just the CBI, who would have ever thought ODU might be competing for ANY kind of tournament championship after the season they had last year?

I tried to find information about this last week. Couldn't find any definitive answers.

If they do, it's pennies.

Nobody cares about the NIT. The only people watching the NIT basketball games are some of the fans of those teams. Everyone else is on basketball overload from last weekend.

Found this from an article on San Diego State's NIT run in 2009:

Quote:In the NIT, SDSU receives expense money plus up to 15 percent of the net for hosting its first three games. It will receive an undetermined additional amount from shares of the NIT pie after expenses..

Unlike the NCAA Tournament, NIT revenue is not shared with conference members.

ODU loses to Fresno State 64-71

Sorry the Monarchs couldn't get CUSA a trophy, but we've come a hell of a long way from our 5 win season last year and we'll bring it next year for sure!
