Isn't this the same line of thinking that brought us Larry Porter? If Josh has an opening hire the best you can get. The issue isn't whether or not they are a former Tiger, the issue is what job are they being hired to do. Are they supposed to develop players, recruit, scout/gameplan, or some of each? I think any shortcomings on Josh's staff have been that he is too focused on recruiting rather than having a balanced staff that can recruit, develop, and gameplan.

CJP wouldn't hire anyone that would pose a threat to him..."Pride goes before fall"

Coach Nienaber from CBU is a great X O coach...not a recruiter though..but CJP should have that covered.

He tried for that NBA assistant during the lockout.

Every coach on staff has been around winning coaches and programs.

I don't believe they're idiots.

Why not give someone like Antonio Anderson who aspires to be a coach a position for a year?

Refer to pages 1-6. There are several reasons not to...

Former players don't have to be paid assistants to assist the program.

Yeah. Didn't Hank do it for the big men for a few years until he had heart problems?

I'm all for these kids believing as long as they want, and I think that's why Cal had Strickland. A for NBA PG with who can help these kids get ready. Just my 2 cents. Other than PR value why? You hire the most qualified personnel available. If it happens to be former Tiger so be it. If not then so be it.

So obviously, there are some flaws there based on how we've looked in some games. That isn't working to well, for us specifically that equation is flawed, to say the least!

I wonder if Pearl is going to retain Tony Madlock at Auburn?

Always thought Tony would be a good addition and recruiter for the Tigers.
