Our Guards
Our guards tonight were 9-28. 3-13 on threes.

This is an ongoing theme. I have hated to admit this but midtowncowboy was right all along in that our guards are not as good as we thought.

Joe shot 44.2% this season and 26.5 from 3.
CC shot 37.5% this year and 37.9 from 3
GJ shot 40.8% for the season and 26.4 from 3
Dixon was the anomaly shooting 47.5 and 39.1 from 3

Taking out the anomaly (Dixon) the 3 guards that were already here shot 41% and 32.5% from 3.

All three, Joe, Chris, and Geron had a down year as compared to last year.

After looking at this I am surprised that we did as well as we did on the season.

I think that Pastner's biggest mistake was putting so much of the season on the 3 senior guards who dominated CUSA the year before but did not step up with the better competition this year.

Thoughts?

RE: Our Guards
Whatever has to be done or said, including undermining the players, just as long as it's not Pastner.

Did he not just fault Pastner for something? Oh, wait, you want him to say we should fire Pastner...got it.

I mean really.

I just posted the actually shooting stats for the guards which were worse than last year.

Those with that agenda will read into it what that want, but they can't argue with the numbers.

Extremely good and well thought out post. To put it into perspective; we had 3 guards that were basically Andre Allen.

I don't think they were tugging on a doobie.

And Dixon was allowed the least amount of playing time...
