There's only like 3 or 4 of them. What about the other 10?

You do realize Josh's best defensive team was his first year with Cal's leftover players...

Know why...

Because they still used Cal's defensive philosophy.

Not to muddy the water with facts, but it was last year's (15th in kenpom) followed by Barton's 2nd year (18th kenpom) that were our best defensively.

Pastner's first year was our worst defensively (163rd kenpom).

But continue.

RE: This is why Cal didn't recruit Memphis kids
He did recruit Memphis kids, he recruited them all the time, just missed out on a few. Also Memphis high school basketball was way down at the time, way down. Antonio Burks, Andre Allen, Shawn Williams, Jeremy Hunt, Pierre Niles, Rice or Grice was from Memphis, can't which one. Scooter Mcfadgdon, Willie Kemp is basically from here, he went hard after Qyntal Woods, J.P. Prince, Thaddeus Young and Eliot Williams, it was only one big time recruit, he didn't go after, that was Byars.

He's going to have to recruit longer more physical players. Their rainy doesn't matter. Cal recruited players based on his system and of they could play in it.

KenPom can be deceiving...We are obviously not the 50th best defensive team in the country this year...If we don't turn you over we allow you to score or we foul you...

Bartons last year was probably the best defensive team Pastner has had...Last year was not great also...Was better than this year of course

Sure we are.

But you seem to think that top 50 is good. It's not very good, considering that there are, what, 30 or so at-large teams in the tourney. It's mediocre.

Not true. He recruited JJ. But I don't think JJ would have seen the floor at KY. Other than Nichols, I doubt he offered any of the others.

By KenPoms metric we are...

But my lying eyes tell me we are much worse...We are 100+ in field goal % defense
and our defensive rebounding % is in the 250s so if we don't turn you over we are horrible.
