Depression Among Athletes
A good point was raised. "Less than 25 Division I athletic departments are staffed with a full-time, licensed mental health professional."

The kids get medical care for their physical injuries but very little is done for their mental well being. Many of the sports headlines about bad behavior I think stem from undiagnosed or ignored depression and/or social disorders the athletes have. The Schools make a lot of money off these athletes and they need to spend some of that on making sure their athletes get diagnosed and helped. The athletes themselves need to learn the warning signs to help identify at risk fellow athletes.
