who won? Can't find the score anywhere! Nothing on UABsports.com nor the Silverbacks website. Nothing on al.com (surprise) Even fb friends who posted pics pre-game haven't followed up with results.

Haven't seen a score but I did see a tweet that said The score did not reflect how well UAB played.

that is not usually a good sign.....and would also explain the relative silence on the subject.

Final score was 3-0. I thought we played very well. Had several opportunities on some great crosses. There was a great crowd and atmosphere. It was a fun night.

UAB played very well for most of the game and had several shots hit the goal posts. It was 1-0 for most the game. The Silverback fans had a nice fog machine and flares when they score, and at the end they had to be escorted out for talking crap to everyone in the stands while walking out.

Some guy was chanting "Imaginary soccer club"

Locally the media is making the assumption that since over 2000 fans were in attendance that it is a showing that people would support professional soccer.

I tend to believe that it shows that it supports UAB in big games.

There might be a different type crowd there for a professional game.

What are y'alls thoughts?

Huntsville can support a professional team(or semi-pro, whatever you want to call these leagues), so I have no doubt Birmingham can. Birmingham could not support anything close to an MLS team right now though.

I think a local team would draw a decent crowd.
