Plus when the tigers do get an defensive rebound, they need to quickly get it yo our guards and turn on the jets, running down the court before UV has a chance to set up their defense. UV is an extremely slow team physically

I think they have some guys that are strong in the paint, but none as athletic as Goodwin. I think it will be interesting.

I noticed it also and kept thinking "I thought UVA was supposed to be so good on D".

While driving the CC guards kept losing the ball and the UVA defenders never seemed to get to the ball first.

It was like they were a step slow.

From what I remember, that is what Saint Louis did to Memphis a couple of years ago in the tournament.

Why is Virginia even bothering to show up if what you're all saying is true?

SMH, you'll see how weak and slow virginia is when they swarm our guys going to the rim and we're relying on kick-out 3s. Let's hope dixon and cc are on

So what you're saying is we'll have about 9-10 extra possessions due to them not getting boards cause we'll get offensive boards. Then add in 8-15 turnovers for them which will give us another 6-8 possession depending on our turnovers. They sure as hell better try or it'll get ugly for them real fast.

As long as the game is called fair I like our chances. If they get something like 14-25 more free throws then us i'm gonna punch my TV.

We were 6-22 last night. If they are going to pack it in and give it to us then we might very well hit them. Focus will fix a lot of our regular season problems and based on last night the focus was their.

Yes I agree with you. It is NOT going to be easy. They are st. louis on steroids and they will be very good. I also believe we did a better job against the zone last night. Virginia is very big and good down low and they played SERIOUS lockdown defense in the second half against Coastal. We just need to take care of the ball and make smart passes. Sometimes we are so busy getting assists that we don't take the easy shot. Still, I believe in this coaching staff and these players. I know many fans don't but I do. Win or lose, I am with them. Go Tigers!!!

We need to cut down on careless turnovers, but some turnovers result from emphasis on sharing the ball which leads to assists and better FG% made.

If you just compared stats on paper, you would think that the Tigers would completely destroy UVA:

Offense:
Points per game-- UVA #294, Tigers #35
Rebounds per game-- UVA #140, Tigers #46
Assists per game-- UVA #125, Tigers #3
Field goal percentage-- UVA #122, Tigers #23

Defense:
Points allowed-- UVA #1, Tigers #182
Rebounds per game-- UVA #115, Tigers #88
Blocks per game-- UVA #137, Tigers #57
Steals per game-- UVA #262, Tigers #7

& I'd say the competition on each other's schedule is comparable. As we are seeing in this tourney the gap isn't that large betwee major & mid major, much less between major & major. Just looking at those stats gives me hope I didn't have before.

Exactly! Virginia should be favored to win and is a good team but they are not 'scary' good and they do have weaknesses and it shouldn't be shocking to anyone if the tigers won the game, ifthey do a couple of things well on Sunday night.

If he got the jitters of his first NCAA tourney game out the way last night, which I hope he did. I really really want him to do well. His mom is a friend so I am little bias.
